Welcome to NFL Week 2 DFS! The NFL DFS landscape is open, with all kinds of opportunities and chaos. The challenge is balancing cheap value with trustworthy production. The goal is simple: stay consistent, cash in, and climb into the green.
Navigating the Slate
This week’s DFS slate is the same as others; injuries, depth chart changes, and other key roster moves have us scrambling.
Our final lineup reflects a “consistently cash” mindset — the kind of structure aimed at 50/50s and double-ups, not high-risk tournaments. It’s about profit through balance, not boom-or-bust swings.
QB – Dak Prescott – DAL ($6,400)
The Commanders allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to the opposing quarterback in Week 1, and I don’t believe in this Washington defense whatsoever. With Prescott’s elite supporting cast, he’s a lock for a clutch game this week. In two games against Washington last season, he combined for 571 passing yards and five touchdown passes.
Honorable Mention: Brock Purdy, Bryce Young, Jordan Love
RB – Bijan Robinson – ATL ($8,200)
What an elite spot for Robinson, who put up 31.3 DraftKings points in Week 1. Carolina was gashed on the ground by Chicago in Week 1, and with Cooper Rush under center for Atlanta again in Week 2, expect a heavy dosage of Robinson. He can’t get phased out, and if Carolina’s issues on the ground rear its ugly head again in Week 2, he has every opportunity to notch 30+ fantasy points again.
Derrick Henry – BAL ($7200)
I don’t love the price, but of the higher-priced options this week, he’s one I want to build around. He had his way with Indy in Week 1, and faces a Saints team this week that gave up some fantasy goodness to Jahmyr Gibbs last week. It isn’t looking promising for Zay Flowers to suit up this week, and even if he does, he could be limited. That might mean Baltimore leans even more on their workhorse RB. This guy just doesn’t seem to age!
Honorable Mention: Saquon Barkley, David Montgomery, Breece Hall, Aaron Jones
WR – Rome Odunze – CHI ($5500)
The Vikings allowed 15 receptions to the position in Week 1, resulting in 282 yards and two scores for the Packers. Odunze went into Week 1 with an injury designation, but doesn’t seem to have one this week. Vegas has this one at 48.5 total currently, but it could easily eclipse that number. I don’t see Kalif Raymond being the leading WR again, and at the price point, Odunze is one of my favorite plays this week.
George Pickens – DAL ($6,300)
Here’s our stack partner with Dak Prescott! Pickens is a full $1,000 cheaper than CeeDee Lamb on DraftKings, and that value is too good to pass up. A couple of drops hurt him in Week 1, but Washington’s secondary is abysmal, and Pickens had 78+ yards in both matchups last season. This is a get-right game for Pickens.
Chris Godwin Jr., TB – ($5,600)
Godwin underwhelmed in Week 1, but the matchup out of the slot against Cleveland is too good to ignore at this price point. In the team’s opening-week loss to the Jaguars, Cleveland allowed over 30 yards per reception and two touchdowns to slot receivers, per FantasyPoints Data. The Bucs’ offense will be looking to bounce back in Week 2, and what better squad to face than the lowly Cleveland Browns?
Honorable Mention: Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, Garrett Wilson
TE – Michael Mayer LV ($3600)
Mayer led the Raiders with seven targets in Week 1, with Ashton Jeanty right behind him, recording six. This is how it figures to be until Brock Bowers returns. In the meantime, Mayer delivers excellent DFS value each week. LAC let Trey McBride run wild in Week 1, and while I’m not expecting those numbers, he will return value, and it’s only a matter of time before he hits the end zone.
Honorable Mention: Dalton Schultz, Harold Fannin Jr., Mark Andrews
FLEX – Xavier Hutchinson, HOU ($3,500)
Check out the Prop Bets article here at Big Guy Fantasy Sports, and you’ll see Hutchinson there, too. With Nico Collins expected to miss the game, Hutchinson will be relied upon more in the offense. He averaged 65 yards per game across the three contests Collins missed last season, and unlike last year, Jayden Higgins is also out of the mix. Expect him to lead the Texans wideouts in routes, and push for double-digit fantasy points on Sunday. Good salary relief to afford our two stud running backs.
D/ST
Philadelphia Eagles ($3700)
Cam Ward. Need I say more? Three-quarters of Tennessee’s drives in Week 1 resulted in punts, and if they allow a 40+ percent pressure rate again this week, we’re going to get a turnover or two in this one.
Honorable Mention: 49ers, Bucs, Patriots, Cardinals
Closing Thoughts
Play the value, chase the usage, and stick with players showing week-to-week consistency. NFL Week 2 DFS rewards patience and planning, not chaos. Enter lineups with confidence, stay disciplined, and stay consistent.
