NFL Fantasy Football Week 7: Under the Radar with Consistency!

Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.

NFL Fantasy Football Week 7 offers some great matchups for consistency. In the “Under the Radar with Consistency” series this week, I’ve got some Clutch players who need your attention.

Currently, we have some fantasy football teams that are 2-4 or 3-3, which need some help moving forward. For NFL Fantasy Football Week 7, the “Under the Radar” series includes several players to target that can turn your season around and turn your team into a playoff contender.

For those who are new or need a refresher, here are a few key terms and definitions to help you during the season when reading.

  • Clutch Factor (CF) – the average points a player needs to meet or exceed a Clutch Game based on scoring settings and league size. Think QB1, RB2, WR2, and TE1 thresholds.
  • Clutch Games (CG) – weekly per-game award for a player who hits the CF factor. The more of these, the more consistent the player is.
  • Clutch Rate (CR) – total of CG earned divided by total games; top fantasy players are usually > 70%.
  • Football Consistency Report Tool (Scoring can be edited/Standard listed below)
    • Based on 12-team leagues
    • 4 points per passing touchdown
    • 6 points for all other touchdowns
    • 1 point per reception (PPR)
    • 1 point per 20 passing yards
    • 1 point per 10 rushing yards or 10 receiving yards

QB Brock Purdy, SF, NFL Fantasy Football Week 7.

So far this season, the San Francisco 49ers have been ravaged with injuries, and their QB, Brock Purdy, has been no exception. He’s been limited to only 2 games; however, both of those games are classified as Clutch Games.

Even in Purdy’s absence, Mac Jones has managed to hit 3/4 Clutch Games. Furthermore, when Purdy has been healthy, he’s averaging a robust 293 yards passing, 2 passing TDs, and 15 rushing yards per game.

The 49ers, as I mentioned, have been decimated by injuries, and their playmakers have suffered as well. Brandon Aiyuk has yet to suit up, George Kittle has only played 1 game, and Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall, and Demarcus Robinson have all missed multiple games. Once healthy, that nucleus, along with Christian McCaffrey, will allow Purdy to stay in the QB1 range all season.

At only 74% rostered, I would recommend picking him up if he’s been dropped. If not, then I would offer a trade to the manager who has him. Purdy has the potential to be a high-end Quarterback in this offense, and he’s at his cheapest price point right now.

QB C.J. Stroud, HOU,

There have been some growing pains this season for the Houston Texans’ offense, as they failed to score 20 points in the first 3 weeks before exploding for 70 points combined over the last 2 weeks. Leading that charge is C.J. Stroud, who comes into week 7 with back-to-back Clutch Games.

Due to those last two Clutch Games, Stroud now has a 60% CR. On top of that, he’s averaging 23.6 points per game over his past two games. That average would have Stroud tied for QB2 with Lamar Jackson for the season.

(2025 Statistics: 60% CR, QB21: 16.8 PPG, 52% Rostered on Yahoo!)

Joe Mixon was the expected incumbent RB starter, but he hasn’t been active all season. Nick Chubb hasn’t been efficient, and it’s taken time for rookie Woody Marks to help contribute. Combine that with the team integrating two rookie WRs (Jayden Higgins and Jaylen Noel), and we can see reasons for the slow start.

Stroud had a less-than-stellar year 2, which is why he wasn’t drafted as highly as he should’ve been. However, as this offense continues to grow and he becomes more comfortable, I believe he could be a fixture in the top 12 QBs. If you’re struggling at QB, then pick up Stroud.

WR Kendrick Bourne, SF,

When writing about the 49ers, I didn’t even mention the resurgence that Kendrick Bourne is experiencing. Two weeks ago, he put up a career high of 142 yards receiving, and then matched that same total again this past week.

Bourne has had 6+ targets and 4+ receptions in 3 of the 5 games he’s played in this season. The past two weeks, he’s had 20 targets, 15 receptions, and 284 receiving yards. His 21.7 points per game during that two-game stretch would have him ranked as WR2, just ahead of Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Key injuries in the 49ers’ receiving room have allowed Bourne to thrive, and there isn’t any indication that those will clear up any time soon. Aiyuk is still weeks away, Jennings revealed he has 5 broken ribs, and Pearsall has no new updates.

I’ve already picked up Bourne in several leagues where I’ve been hit with injuries, and I’ll continue to target him due to my faith in the 49er offense. With one or more of the 49er WRs missing each week, Bourne likely continues to produce WR3 or higher numbers.

TE AJ Barner, SEA, NFL Fantasy Football Week 7.

The Seattle Seahawks haven’t lacked for receiving talent this season. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Tory Horton, and AJ Barner have all been steady, if not spectacular. Barner has become the team’s best Red Zone weapon with 4 TDs in 5 games this season.

Barner’s 67% CR has him in the top 12 TEs for the season, and he’s set career highs in receiving yards in 3 consecutive games. His 15.53 points per game over his last 3 games played would have ranked as TE3 behind only Jake Ferguson and Dallas Goedert.

(2025 Statistics: 67% CR, T-TE14: 10.3 PPG, 15% Rostered on Yahoo!)

I featured Horton here in the “Under the Radar” series last week, and I believe that QB Sam Darnold has shown enough to support multiple receiving options for the remainder of the season. Barner is a seam-buster as he caught a 61-yard reception last week. He will also receive a handful of Red Zone targets each week.

Tight End has been abysmal this season, outside of a few top options. In addition to that, no TE who’s got a 100% CR has played every game this year (Kittle is 1/1 and Goedert is 5/5). Barner has now hit 3 straight weeks for Clutch Games, and more are on the way.

RB Woody Marks, HOU, NFL Fantasy Football Week 7.

I’m highlighting Woody Marks again here; he’s too good not to. The Houston Texans had a bye week last week, so understandably, his roster percentage hasn’t spiked up, but I think that’s a mistake.

Reports from last week say, “the Texans still view Marks as a receiving back”. This, along with the Texans’ bye week, has muzzled the hype for Marks. Well, despite a low CR of 20% and only coming into this week as RB41, I believe that Marks will explode over the second half of the season.

(2025 Statistics: 20% CR, RB41: 8.3 PPG, 56% Rostered on Yahoo!)

We’ve seen other “receiving backs” blossom into high-end talents, such as Austin Ekeler, Alvin Kamara, Jahmyr Gibbs, and James Cook. The most talented RB rises to the top. In Houston, both Joe Mixon and Nick Chubb may have been studs, but that was in the past.

Marks is a talented RB who had a 6.15 score from NFL.com coming out of college. For comparison, Cam Skattebo had a 6.16 in this year’s class. Marks’ talent in the passing game will get him on the field, and the lack of efficiency from Chubb will help Marks rise to the top of the depth chart.
