Jaylen Waddle – Denver Broncos
Via trade with the Miami Dolphins – Dolphins receive 2026 1st, 3rd, and 4th round picks
Broncos receive Waddle and a 2026 4th-round pick
What I like about it:
The change of scenery should have an immediate impact on Waddle. Sean Payton has changed the culture in Denver and has built a winner in his style. Miami is in full-on rebuild mode, and currently has an offensive depth chart that could be the worst in the league.
With Courtland Sutton lining up on the opposite side, Waddle should have some of the attention taken off him. In Miami, Waddle would clearly have been the focal point of the passing offense, resulting in him seeing the majority of the attention of opposing defenses. His move to Denver should free things up a bit.
This gives Bo Nix a small boost in value for 2026. While Troy Franklin stepped up, it was clear there wasn’t a consistent second option. Nix was 47% consistent in our system, while Waddle was 56% in 2025. While I don’t expect a huge bump in Waddle’s production, Nix should see an increase in his. Both figure to be more consistent in 2026.
More Big Guy Fantasy Football
The Broncos’ leading receiver in 2025 was Courtland Sutton with 74 catches on 124 targets for 1017 yards and seven touchdowns. I’m expecting nearly the same numbers for Waddle after this trade. Sutton could see a bit of a dip, but I’m expecting both Waddle and Sutton to post similar stats to Sutton’s 2025. If you’re looking for a huge uptick in production from Waddle, it isn’t happening. It will be an improvement from 2025, but I’m expecting him to settle in somewhere between his 2022 and 2023 production as long as he can stay healthy.
This move significantly impacts the rest of the WR room and the entire TE room in Denver. Troy Franklin took a huge step and solidified himself as the WR2 with 65 grabs for 709 yards and six touchdowns in 2025. It’s going to be tough for him to replicate that unless Sutton or Waddle goes down with an injury. There isn’t much else to like about the Broncos’ passing game outside of Waddle, Sutton, and Bo Nix.
Overall Take:
I like the move overall for everyone involved in real-life football. Denver gains a big-time threat in the passing game for Bo Nix. Miami continues its rebuild as they stock up on picks. If you expect Waddle to post similar numbers to Courtland Sutton’s 2025, then you are viewing it correctly. Sutton and Waddle are both in the low WR2 to high WR3 conversation for me. As far as the Dolphins receiving room, expect them to use a few picks on the position in the draft, but as for right now, Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert are the main weapons for Malik Willis. Either could be worth a late-round dart because someone will have to step up. But this team should continue to lean on De’Von Achane unless they move him too. If you can land Waddle as your WR3, you will be in great shape.
