The 2026 postseason coaching chaos is going to generate more player inconsistency than in any previous NFL season. It will also wreak havoc on our fantasy seasons, unless…you read these articles and plan ahead. Never in the history of the NFL has there been as many Head Coach and/or Offensive Coordinator changes as there were this offseason. Some of our favorite, consistent players who were last season’s standouts may lose touches to others who were overlooked by their previous coaches. If you know who they are, they’ll be carrying your fantasy teams to championships. In this weekly series of team-by-team articles, Phil Taylor highlights how our favorite players are likely to be affected by the coaching changes.
Buffalo Bills:
Players aren’t consistent if their coaches aren’t consistent. The 2025/2026 offseason has had more coaching changes than any other NFL offseason. That means that a lot of our favorite fantasy players may be deployed differently than they have in the last few years. The Buffalo Bills are one of those teams. Sean McDermott was shown the door and was replaced by his Offensive Coordinator Joe Brady. Longtime NFL Offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael was hired as the OC. What impact will this have on our favorite Bills players? Let’s take a look at each offensive position.
The Players To Watch:
QB: Josh will do Josh things as we say here in Western NY. Joe Brady was the OC the last several years, so I don’t expect Pete Carmichael to change much with that. Carmichael worked with Denver’s offense the last two seasons, bringing Bo Nix along. He has also worked with Joe Brady in the past, so Josh will be Josh in 2026.
RB’s: James Cook led the league in rushing yards. With the addition of DJ Moore to the wide receiver room, there should be a better pass game, which could result in slightly fewer yards and TDs for Cook. That being said, Cook is a great weapon and should be used similarly in 2026.
WR’s: DJ Moore was added to Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Tyrell Shavers. If DJ Moore still has his speed, that should open up the entire Bills’ passing game. I expect DJ Moore to be all in and be an asset because at his age, this might be his last opportunity for a significant role in an offense. The threat of him getting downfield will open up things underneath, and both the TEs and Shakir should see a bump up in their receptions.
TE: Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox are likely to continue to be used the same and frustrate fantasy managers by pretty much splitting the TE usage equally. If one or the other goes down, go all in on the other. Both Joe Brady and Pete Carmichael have used tight ends a decent amount in their offenses.
Overall, I expect the Bills’ offense to be better this season, but frustrated by Brady and Carmichael spreading the ball around.
