Draft Values for Fantasy Football: Who’s Being Overlooked?

Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.

As fantasy football drafts get underway, we need to determine draft values. Each year brings its own set of challenges and new faces. Fantasy managers can simply go by Average Draft Position (ADP), or they can find values by identifying ranking discrepancies.

Over the offseason, I’ve been doing a weekly article on ADP Risers and Fallers. Each week, I’ve identified some of the biggest movers and provided information on why the weekly change happened. As I finalize my player rankings and tiers, I’ve identified several players who still offer value at their ADP.

Being able to find those players who can vastly outperform their ADP is crucial to building a winning fantasy team. Those players are available at each position, and knowing when to pull the trigger during your draft is a huge advantage.

Read on to find out which players I see as extreme values and when to target them for your draft. Be sure to sign up today to get full access to all the tools available at BGFS!

RB Breece Hall NYJ Draft Values.

I’ve written about this a couple of times, and if you’re following me on X, you know Breece Hall is one of my guys this season. He’s elite in so many ways, yet he’s fallen to RB19 in ADP (54.1 overall). Hall was considered a dynasty’s top asset and first-round pick in redraft leagues just last season. He’s my favorite value right now.

Hall’s biggest advantage is his PPR floor. Over his 3 seasons in the NFL, he’s averaged 5 targets, 3.8 receptions, and 32.3 receiving yards per game. That’s 7.3 points per game before he even gets a carry or scores a touchdown. As for the rushing, he averages 4.6 yards per carry over his career.

In Hall’s three seasons, he has finished as RB17, RB6, and RB7 in points per game. His career average is 16.16 points per game, which would’ve been tied for RB13 with Chuba Hubbard last season. He’s also got a 72.5% CR for his career. He’s a true plug-and-play running back for fantasy rosters.

Hall is a top 10 running back for fantasy with the overall potential for RB1 (he finished RB2 overall in 2023 with 290.5 points). He’s 30 picks outside of the top 10 running backs in ADP (Bucky Irving at 24, Hall at 54.1 overall). That’s outrageous, and I’m all in this year. WHEN TO TARGET: I wouldn’t blink an eye if Hall went at the 1/2 turn in drafts, but for now, you can target him in the Late 3rd/Early 4th.

WR Jameson Williams DET

Last season, the Detroit Lions were an explosive offense, leading the NFL in scoring at 33.4 points per game. A big part of that was Jameson Williams developing into a legitimate top wide receiver. He finished last season as WR22 overall and tied with Courtland Sutton at 14.1 points per game.

Coming into his 4th season, Williams has improved every year. Last season, he improved as the season went on, averaging 7 targets per game from week 11 on. During that time frame, Williams averaged 16.2 points per game and had at least 5 receptions and/or a touchdown in every game.

Fantasy managers might point to the fact that Williams shares a receiving room with Amon-Ra St. Brown, but they thrived together (St. Brown averaged 20.44 during the same 8 weeks). These two wide receivers are easily at the top of a narrow receiving room. The wide receiver who finished 3rd in targets last season, Tim Patrick, only had 44 in 16 games. With his share of targets, Williams was able to have a 67% CR, tied for WR19 amongst wide receivers.

Williams will keep up his pace from the end of last season, and I expect 100+ targets this season. St. Brown was down 23 targets last season despite playing in one more game than he did in 2023. A lot of that was the growth of Williams, who will be more of a WR1b to St. Brown this year than a WR2. WHEN TO TARGET: Going as WR30 is way too low for Williams; his 16.2 points per game down the stretch would’ve had him top 15 last season. Reach for him in the 5th or 6th at the latest (ADP 79.8); he’ll easily outperform that ADP this season.

WR Chris Olave NO

The New Orleans Saints have an uphill climb as they try to determine who will start at quarterback for them this season. One thing they do know is that Chris Olave will be their WR1. Over his 3-year career, Olave is averaging 7.72 targets, 4.9 receptions, and 65.77 yards per game.

Last season, Olave’s year was cut short by injuries; he only appeared in 8 games.  His first two years in the NFL, he played 15 and 16 games, so last year stands out as an outlier. His injury history battling concussions is concerning, but he comes into this season healthy.

When healthy, there’s no denying Olave’s talent. In 2022, he was WR25 overall before finishing as WR16 in 2023. In his two healthy seasons, he averaged 13.86 points per game. During those two seasons, Olave has a combined 67.74% CR.

Looking for draft values, it’s easy to see that Olave being drafted in the 8th round, as WR38, is way too low. He will cruise past 120+ targets this upcoming season and finish much closer to WR20 than WR40. WHEN TO TARGET: I’d be comfortable drafting Olave as my WR2, whereas he’s currently being drafted as a WR4. Get him in the late 7th/early 8th and enjoy having a guy who could be a fringe WR1 by season’s end.
