Davante Adams from NYJ to LAR
This is one of my favorite moves of the off-season for a number of reasons. After spending a little over two forgettable seasons in Las Vegas, Adams was dealt to the Jets to reunite with Aaron Rodgers. It took a few weeks, but that rapport came back as Adams arrived in New York for Week 7. From then on, he saw at least nine targets in every game but three. From weeks 9-18, Adams was 78% consistent for owners. Let’s look at how the move west impacts all involved.
Adams decided not to wait on Aaron Rodgers’ decision and head to the Rams on a 2-year, $44 million dollar deal. This lines him up opposite fantasy first-rounder Puka Nacua to form one of the better WR duos in the league.
This move benefits Adams as long as Matthew Stafford can stay healthy. If you’ve been reading your 2025 Fantasy Football Consistency Guide (which I know you are), you know that Stafford was just 31% consistent in 2024. To be fair, injuries to Nacua and Cooper Kupp (who’s now a Seahawk) derailed Stafford’s season, and made him a non-fantasy starter for a good portion of the season. Since 2015, Adams has played in 14 games in all but one season. Adams is 32, so we should figure on him missing a game or two, as has become standard for him, but he’s much more durable than Cooper Kupp. Let’s hope Stafford can be as durable.

Mike LaFleur heads into his second season as the Rams’ offensive coordinator. Being a member of the Kyle Shannahan family tree (and also Matt’s brother), using the West Coast offensive principles should lead to opportunities for Adams to shine. The run game with Kyren Williams has proven to be good enough, but they are going to need to improve a bit, as they were in the bottom third in yards per game at 103.8. The offensive line struggled with injury as well in 2024. They head into the year healthy and are projected as one of the stronger units in the league. Just like their QB, health is the key. If they can also protect Stafford, he stays healthy.
Consistent NFL Faces, This Will Help:
Matthew Stafford
It replaces Cooper Kupp with a more durable weapon in the passing game.
Puca Nacua
Another legit threat can only help him. Defenders will have to worry about both guys.
Garrett Wilson
With Adams gone, Allan Lazard is currently the second option for the Jets. Wilson will see a boatload of targets. Hopefully, he and Justin Fields can connect.
Consistent NFL Faces This Will Hurt:
Rams Tight Ends
Hopefully, you aren’t relying too heavily on this group for fantasy production, but Adams’ presence hurts a bit. Higbee has some value, but unless there is a WR injury, there won’t be a lot of production here.
Tutu Atwell
Not that you were counting on him either, but he will lose chances to Adams. Handcuffing WR’s isn’t usually a thing, but if you own Nacua or Adams, you may want to try and stash Atwell, as he’s been solid when there have been injuries in the LAR passing game.
Overall Take:
Overall, I absolutely love this move for both Adams and Stafford. His current value of ADP 41 and the 17th WR off the board could pay huge dividends. It also greatly benefits Adams as the WR2 and not the main focus of the passing game. I expect him to get back to his consistent ways.
