The Average Draft Position of players are starting to adjust now that teams have their rookies- here are 6 players with movement to be aware of heading into your drafts.
The offseason is a time when the true degenerates are checking in on fantasy football. This time of year, we’re several weeks removed from the NFL draft, and if you’ve been paying attention, then some changes are in the air for fantasy football rankings. You’ll see tons of “way too early” and “best ball” guides to ranking, but it’s difficult to sort the information as quickly as it’s changing right now.
The truth is that most of us are taking the information we’re hearing from training camps, the rookie fever hype, and what we already know to make educated guesses on how depth charts end up. Read on below to get some insight on what I’m seeing as far as ADP (average draft position) movement for players within the rankings.

Let’s look at those quarterbacks ranked in their projected Tier for 2025 and show you their 2024 total points and consistency, and where they ranked in those categories in 2024. The scoring method is the standard 4 points per TD passing and 6 for rushing, plus 1 point for every 20 yards passing and 10 yards rushing. So, let’s start with the top tier of quarterbacks. Fantasy Football: ADP.
QB Cam Ward TEN
Wow, was a 9th round pick a week ago, but now has fallen to a late round 11 pick in redraft? This one is a little bit surprising to me, as Cam Ward has done everything he was supposed to do to build up on his hype. Coming into the NFL draft, many considered him a top 2 quarterback with Shedeur Sanders, and he ended up going as the 1st overall pick to the Tennessee Titans.
His advanced metrics looked good (6.39 rating and an 86 for Next Gen Stats, which was the highest QB score overall from the combine via NFL.com), and his tape looked amazing. To me, this comes down to one thing: his draft landing spot.
Fantasy owners are out on Ward and letting him drop because they don’t trust the Tennessee Titans to develop a top-notch quarterback. Rookies are always difficult to gauge due to the fact that we don’t have any NFL results to back them up; however, Ward being the number 1 overall pick should be enough to keep him in the conversation for fantasy football.
Despite the fact that he’s fallen recently, I expect him to be rostered in the majority of leagues because the upside is just too high. In recent memory, we’ve seen quite a few rookie quarterbacks placed in QB1 or QB2 tiers (depending on your league setting, as these are starters for your league). C.J. Stroud, Bo Nix, and Jayden Daniels all burst onto the scene for fantasy teams the last two seasons.
(ADP -14.3, pick 143, Rostered 46.3% on ESPN redraft/snake)
The fun part about all three of those quarterbacks is looking back, I think many were fading them as well due to…their unfortunate landing spots. None of those teams looked like ‘good’ offenses heading into the season, but each of those quarterbacks played the “boat that rises all tides” role. The lesson here is, don’t let Ward’s ADP continue to plummet.
If you’re drafting soon and want a high upside quarterback that you can get late in the draft, then go ahead and pull the trigger on Ward. Round 9 is very reasonable, but according to the current ADP, you can hold off a little longer if you’d like to take that gamble. He’s got plus mobility and a rocket for an arm, but most importantly, we know he’ll get the keys to the Titans’ offense immediately.
