NFL Offseason: 3 YR Consistency for TEs

NFL Fantasy Football Offseason is picking up. The NFL Draft concluded this weekend, and we’re on to the next step! Let’s review the past 3 seasons for fantasy points and consistency.
Thanks for joining me! I’m focusing on consistency in the past 3 seasons for the main fantasy positions: QB, RB, WR, and TE. Today, I’m looking at TEs that will conclude this series. Fantasy Football Under the Radar (with consistency) – 4/27/2026
Tier 1, +60% Clutch Rates NFL Fantasy Football Offseason.
1.) Trey McBride – 72% (36/50)
2.) George Kittle – 69.05% (29/42)
3.) Brock Bowers – 65.52% (19/29)
Tier 1 for TEs comes with no real surprises. These should be the first 3 TEs off the board in every draft, and they represent the same top 3 we had ranked from last year. Trey McBride is far and away the TE1 overall, finishing as the TE1 last season, the TE2 in 2024, and the TE7 in 2023. He’s the only TE with 70% Clutch Rate for the past 3 seasons combined. He was at 88% (15/17) last year.
Bowers was right there with McBride to begin the season, but missed a good chunk of last year due to injury. His CR was 58% (7/12) last year, but was 71% (12/17) in 2024, his rookie season. McBride is the cream of the crop, but Bowers is TE2 in most people’s eyes. If you can get an injury discount on him, then you’ve likely got your TE spot locked up for the next several seasons.

(TEs w/ 60%+ CR AVG Overall TE Finish: 6.07)
George Kittle has been elite whenever he’s been on the field. It saddens me to think that we are in the back nine of his career, as he’s 32 years old. He’s most likely got another year or two left in him, so he’ll still be near the top of the TE rankings for this season.
Not seeing Travis Kelce in this grouping feels weird, but it shows how much his consistency has dropped in the last 2 years. Just like last year, if you want one of the top TEs, the 3 in this group, then you’re going to have to pay a premium price at drafts. Everyone in your league likes all 3 of these guys.
Tier 2, 50%-59.99% Clutch Rates
10.) Sam LaPorta – 59.52% (25/42)
11.) Travis Kelce – 56.25% (27/48)
12.) Harold Fannin Jr. – 56.25% (9/16)
13.) T.J. Hockenson – 52.5% (21/40)
14.) David Njoku – 50% (19/38)
In Tier 2, here are the TEs who have 50% CR or better combined over the past 3 seasons. Several former TE1 players show up here as Kelce reigned supreme for almost 5 years, and Sam LaPorta was TE1 overall in 2023.
If you’ve seen my other 3 YR Consistency articles, then you’ll be well aware that the thresholds for tiers at TE are quite a bit lower. Consistency at TE has been a nightmare, with one or two-week wonder TEs jumping up the list for scoring as opposed to being consistent. Despite that fact, there hasn’t been a top-5 overall TE in the last 3 seasons that isn’t at least 47% consistent combined during that time. Consistency is still king.
(TEs w/ 50% – 59.99% CR AVG Overall TE Finish: 10.72)
TEs in Tier 2 are most likely your last call for getting a TE1 in your drafts. This tier averages top-10 finishes (10.72 average) and is capable of competing for the top spot. If your starting TE has a <50% CR, you really are playing roulette with your streaming options.
All last season, I was in on Harold Fannin Jr., and he’s my biggest TE target this season. Last year, he finished as TE6 overall despite playing for the Cleveland Browns. He has the skillset to push into Tier 1 this season, and I think he stays there for the next several years as well.
Tier 3, 49.99% or less Clutch Rate (The Rest)
If you’re digging around in this tier, then you’ll find some guys who’ve been on breakout lists, some guys who get playing time, and some guys who are likely to ascend into the top two tiers soon. Jake Ferguson (47.92%), Mark Andrews (47.73%), Tyler Warren (47.06%), and Dallas Goedert (46.15%) are the only 4 TEs in this tier with a CR above 45%. Ferguson is that “playing time” guy, Andrews and Goedert fall into the “when does the age cliff hit?”, and then there’s Warren, who’s likely rising the tiers this season.
Another notable name in this tier is Kyle Pitts (39.22%), who finished as TE2 overall this past season and had a 53% CR. Pitts is only 25 years old, and he’s shown some glimpses of being an elite TE. Tucker Kraft (41.03%) was on the rise early last year (63% CR in 8 games) before an injury derailed his season.

(Tier 3 Notable TEs 3YR vs. Last Season CR: Tucker Kraft GB 41%/63%, Kyle Pitts ATL 39%/53%, Dallas Goedert 46%/60%, Juwan Johnson NO 42%/59%)
Some other deep targets to keep an eye on are Dalton Kincaid (39.02%), Colston Loveland (31.25%), and Brenton Strange (34.38%). All 3 of these TEs have shown flashes, are younger, and tied to good offensive situations. If you wait in your draft and decide to draft TE late, then they are all great options mixed in with the guys I mentioned above.
TE has been a dumpster fire for most teams that don’t roster one of the top guys. It seems like we’re starting to see more young TEs putting up points. Not too long ago, it was thought that TEs wouldn’t break out until at least their 3rd year, but over the past 3 seasons, we’ve seen 6 TE rookies finish as top-10 overall options. Keep an eye on Kenyon Sadiq (16th overall pick) and Eli Stowers (54th overall pick), who were both drafted early this year.
The NFL Draft has ended, and we move on to the depth chart debates. We should see more movement now that the draft is over, as teams look to fill holes with available veterans.
