On to NFL Week 17 DFS! The NFL DFS landscape is open with all kinds of opportunities and chaos. The challenge is balancing cheap value with trustworthy production. The goal is simple: stay consistent, cash in, and climb into the green.
Navigating the Slate
This week’s DFS slate is the same as others; injuries, depth chart changes, and other key roster moves have us scrambling.
Our final lineup reflects a “consistently cash” mindset — the kind of structure aimed at 50/50s and double-ups, not high-risk tournaments. It’s about profit through balance, not boom-or-bust swings.
QB – Trevor Lawrence – JAX, ($6100)
The Colts’ defense got carved up by Brock Purdy for five TDs in Week 16 and figures to be just as bad this week. Lawrence has five straight clutch games and has looked like an MVP candidate during that stretch, and hasn’t thrown an interception since November 23rd against Arizona. He’s also posted a rushing touchdown in each of his last two games, and has two games this season over 50 yards rushing. Lots of potential here for the price.
Other plays we like: Brock Purdy, Drake Maye
RB – Chase Brown – CIN, ($7400)
Brown has been great for fantasy and DFS purposes the last couple of weeks, as he has five touchdowns (2 rushing, 3 receiving) over the last four weeks! With DraftKings’ PPR scoring, his 5.3 receptions per game over the last four weeks is a great boost to his production, and he gets a good matchup in a high-scoring affair against an Arizona team that has allowed the most fantasy points to running backs over the last four weeks! Start Brown with confidence.
RB – Ashton Jeanty – LV, ($6100)
With Brock Bowers on IR, and the Raiders likely keeping this game close (or maybe even leading), Jeanty is going to get an insane workload. He gashed an excellent Houston defense for 188 total yards and two touchdowns, and the Giants aren’t exactly a great defense by any means. The price tag is too good for the expected workload, so we’ll trust Jeanty to get another clutch game and more work in the passing game.
Other plays we like: Tyrone Tracy Jr., Jaylen Warren, Seattle RBs
WR – Josh Downs – IND, ($4200)
Jacksonville has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game to slot receivers over the last six weeks, and in two games with Philip Rivers under center, Downs has averaged seven targets per game. Downs has been productive against two-high safety looks, too, which is beneficial to his Week 17 outlook in an AFC South showdown with the Jaguars. Good price tag here.
WR – Wan’Dale Robinson – NYG, ($5700)
We love Robinson against zone coverage, and over the last five weeks, he’s posted 2.47 yards per route run when facing zone coverage. Furthermore, the Raiders play Cover 3 more than anyone in the league, per FantasyPoints Data, and Robinson has a near-30% target share this year against Cover 3, per FantasyPoints Data. Not exactly the most fun game, but Robinson should be an integral part of the pass attack against the Raiders.
WR – Stefon Diggs – NE, ($5800)
Diggs is in line to see a bump in targets as both Mack Hollins and Kayshon Boutte are out for Week 17. Fresh off a nine-reception, 138-yard effort in Week 16, he should see just as many targets as last week. There isn’t much left in the WR room, and the Jets are giving up the seventh most fantasy points to the position over the previous three weeks. Another friendly price for what should be a big production.
Other plays we like: Jakobi Meyers, Tee Higgins, Jaylen Waddle, Emeka Egbuka
TE – Brenton Strange – JAX ($4000)
The perfect guy to stack with Lawrence for the price is Brenton Strange. He found the end zone last week against Denver and has three clutch games in his previous five. He was quiet against Indy the last time out (3 catches for 27 yards) but still saw six targets. With Indy’s defense reeling, he should be involved in the offense for Week 17. Another excellent value on the main slate.
Other plays we like: Tyler Warren, Hunter Henry
