Week 16 NFL Fantasy Start/Sits: QB
START – Justin Herbert – LAC @ DAL
I’m rolling with Herbert in the few leagues I still have life in, so let me tell you why. He’s facing Dallas, whom I’ve picked on a lot in this article, as they allow the most fantasy points to the position. The LAC offensive line has been banged up, but the Cowboys rank just 21st in sacks, so I’m not too concerned about them getting after him. He hasn’t had the consistency this season, but this is the perfect matchup for your fantasy playoffs.
SIT – Trevor Lawrence – JAX @ DEN
At 56% on the road against bad defenses, Lawrence has been better than I thought in that scenario. He seems to be figuring out who he is lately, which is great for fantasy owners. That said, I don’t trust him in this matchup. He does have four straight clutch games, but they have come against the Jets, Colts, Titans, and Cardinals. Not exactly a murderers’ row. Denver is a different animal, and he will be on the road. I’m not expecting a fifth straight clutch game
Week 16 NFL Fantasy Start/Sits: RB
START – Michael Carter – ARI vs. ATL
At this point in the year, it’s tough to find anyone on waivers who will actually touch the ball. The Cardinals’ RB position has been a revolving door that we don’t feel good about. The man in the driver’s seat this week is Michael Carter. He’s not been great carrying the ball, as he averages just 3.3 yards per carry. He has seen 24 targets over the last five games, and those looks should continue to be there.
SIT – Tony Pollard – TEN vs. KC
It’s been two straight clutch games for Pollard, which came right when you needed them. I don’t see a third unfolding in Week 16. Pollard gets a Chiefs team that has been one of the stingiest against fantasy RBs this season. Without Mahomes, this could be a lower-scoring game than you would think. It will be tough for Tennessee to move the ball. Look elsewhere if you can.

Week 16 NFL Fantasy Start/Sits: WR
START – Jauan Jennings – SF @ IND
Jennings has started to become that guy we drafted earlier this year. He’s recorded five touchdowns in the last six games and is the last man standing in the ‘Niners WR room. It’s no secret the Indy secondary is depleted, so the production should be there. The Colts have allowed the seventh most fantasy points to the position in the last three weeks as a result of being without Ward and Gardner.
SIT – Jaylen Waddle – MIA vs. CIN
I’m not sure what to expect from Waddle this week with Quinn Ewers drawing his first NFL start. The Bengals have actually been very good against fantasy WRs this season, so it could be an all-around tough day for the rookie, which will directly impact anyone in the Miami passing game. It might be a case of him being targeted a lot, which is good, but does he produce? I’m not confident the numbers will be there.
Week 16 NFL Fantasy Start/Sits: TE
START – Dallas Goedert – PHI @ WAS
It’s been two straight clutch games for Goedert heading into what should be his third against the Commanders. Over the last two weeks, he’s hauled in 14 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Washington is allowing the fourth most fantasy points to the position, so this seems like a third straight clutch game to me.
Sit – Dalton Schultz – HOU vs. LV
Schultz is coming off a clutch game, and he has had two in the last three weeks. However, this could be a trap game, as the Raiders have actually been one of the better teams against fantasy tight ends. LV is in the bottom ten against fantasy WR, however, so it would make sense for the WR to get the love this week. Start him at your own risk.
