Week 8 brings a tough NFL DFS landscape. Injuries and bye weeks have shaken depth charts, creating both opportunity and chaos. The challenge is balancing cheap value with trustworthy production. The goal is simple: stay consistent, cash in, and climb into the green.
Navigating the Slate
This week’s DFS slate is difficult. Injuries have opened value, but that also makes it easy to overspend in the wrong places. There’s a temptation to use salary just because it’s there. With lead backs sitting out and big names missing, this build leans on value where it matters most while finding stability in proven players.
The final lineup reflects a “consistently cash” mindset — the kind of structure aimed at 50/50s and double-ups, not high-risk tournaments. It’s about profit through balance, not boom-or-bust swings.
Quarterback: Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts – $6200
The Steelers have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, and Jones has been very consistent to begin the 2025 campaign (63% clutch rate). Jones has gone for 20+ DraftKings points in three straight weeks, and Vegas has the Over/Under for this game at 50.5! Pittsburgh plays a good bit of man coverage, and in terms of fantasy points per drop-back, Jones is a top-five QB in this metric at 0.81, ahead of the likes of Patrick Mahomes (0.73) and Josh Allen (0.62).

Running Back: Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers – $6300
The workload should remain strong for Vidal, who is coming off a game against the Vikings where he totaled 127 yards on 24 touches (23 carries, 1 reception). The Titans have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs, and the most touchdowns overall at 14! Mekhi Becton and Austin Deculus both got some practice time in, which is positive for a banged-up O-Line, whereas star defensive lineman Jeffrey Simmons missed practice time due to a hamstring injury. If Simmons doesn’t play, a bad rush defense gets substantially worse, paving the way for a big day from Vidal.
Running Back: Kyle Monangai, Chicago Bears – $4600
This figures to be extra chalky. A cheap RB, who will get the majority of the touches in a great matchup. What’s not to love? I would have gone with Swift had he suited up, but I feel just as good taking his backup. Monangai finished with 94 total yards and a TD against New Orleans two weeks ago. He should eclipse that amount of touches in a game that figures to be high scoring. The Saints are the 8th worst against fantasy RBs, which makes us love this matchup even more.

Wide Receiver: Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs – $7600
You’re going to want some exposure to this game, and we’ll pay up for the likes of Rashee Rice. He’s a perfect 2-for-2 in clutch games since returning from his suspension, not to mention an excellent 2.93 yards per route run and a near-90% catch rate. These two teams are no strangers to high-scoring affairs, and I’d expect some offensive fireworks yet again between the Bills and Chiefs.
Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts – $5900
Pittman is the clear number one in the Colts’ WR room; however, he hasn’t been as consistent as we would like. Since 2022, Pittman has been 80% clutch against bad defenses on the road, and that’s the scenario he finds himself in for Week 9. It could be a tough week for Jonathan Taylor, as the Steelers have been solid against fantasy RB, but boy do they like to hand out receptions and yards to those WR. We always love to stack with our QB, and at this price, Pittman is the Colts’ wideout we want.
Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers – $5600
Tennessee has allowed 100 receptions and 1299 yards to WRs thus far in 2025. This game should be a blowout, as most Titans games are. That said, they will have to build that lea,d and they should use Allen in the passing game to do it. He’s 63% consistent for the season, and 83% consistent on the road against bad defenses. It should be a clutch week for him, and I’m looking for a touchdown as well.

Tight End: George Kittle vs. HOU ($4800)
Kittle bounced back from a lackluster Week 8 return with a touchdown and a clutch game on National Tight End Day. There aren’t many weapons in the San Fran passing game, so Kittle will figure to get targeted often. He’s 80% consistent on the road against average defenses, and the Giants are an average defense in our system. In two career games against the Giants, Kittle has gone for 16 catches and 173 yards.
