Week 7 in NFL Fantasy Football means we need to take a look at Week 6’s “Who’s Hot & Who’s Not” based on the consistency model.

Six weeks of the NFL season have passed, and fantasy managers are doing their best to have rational reactions to what’s going on in the National Football League. However, I’ll urge you not to get too high or too low. In this week’s edition of Who’s Hot and Who’s Not, we’ll dive into standout performances from Patrick Mahomes and Jaylen Waddle, while determining the appropriate level of concern for a few rookies, including Travis Hunter and TreVeyon Henderson.

Who’s Hot! Week 7 NFL Fantasy Football.
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Is Mahomes back? IS MAHOMES BACK!? He’s 83% consistent on the season and your QB1 in fantasy! He’s posted 24+ fantasy points in all but one game this season! Additionally, he gets Rashee Rice back this week! Beyond what he’s doing with his right arm, he’s pacing for a career-high rushing workload, as his 37 yards per game paces out to 629 yards over a full 17-game season! Fire him up with confidence.
Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders
That noise you hear is fantasy managers who drafted Jeanty in the first round celebrating! The rookie running back has four touchdowns over his last three games. Furthermore, over his last three games, he’s averaging 19.3 carries and 4.3 targets per game! Sure, I have some reservations about this Las Vegas offense, but the usage is elite for Jeanty, and volume is king in fantasy football.
Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
Waddle is 67% consistent on the season, and if he stays healthy, he should rack up clutch games moving forward. Over the last two weeks, Waddle has had a 3.66 yards per route run mark, along with a team-best 24.6% target share, per FantasyPoints. He’s getting excellent usage, and furthermore, his 0.69 fantasy points per route run over the last two weeks is better than Ja’Marr Chase and Amon-Ra St. Brown, per FantasyPoints. All that to be said, he’s been really, really good the last two weeks.
Who’s Not! Week 7 NFL Fantasy Football.
TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots
Henderson played just 29.3% of the snaps in Week 6, and that’s without Antonio Gibson in the mix. Henderson was more effective than Stevenson in Week 6, but the team just continues to give Stevenson carries. For whatever reason, Henderson can’t carve out a sizable role and emerge as the RB1 for New England. The rookie is just 33% consistent on the season; hence, the belief in a breakout is slowly fading.
David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
Despite being the TE15 for the year, Njoku has just one clutch game! He got banged up a bit in Week 6, but injury aside, Harold Fannin Jr. has essentially emerged as the team’s top tight end. Dillon Gabriel is peppering the tight ends with targets, but through six weeks, Fannin Jr. has more fantasy points and clutch games. It goes without saying, but Fannin Jr. is undoubtedly the team’s top TE. Hence, my belief is growing that Njoku will be traded at the deadline.
Travis Hunter, Jacksonville Jaguars
Hunter is still searching for his first game with double-digit fantasy points. Furthermore, he’s still searching for his first clutch game! The snap share and route participation are trending in the right direction, but the stats haven’t been there yet. Trevor Lawrence is a well-documented first-read thrower, and amongst the team’s wideouts and tight ends, Hunter is third in first-read rate, coming in at 14.2%. The talent is undeniable, but he can’t be trusted as a consistent option at the moment.
