NFL Fantasy Week 3 Start/Sits Strategy & Football Advice
Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.
Darnold is 80% consistent over the last three seasons at home against a bad defense. That’s the situation he finds himself in this week. The Saints have to travel all the way to the land of Starbucks, and are also in the bottom third of the league when it comes to defending the QB position.
Young is coming off a big game against Arizona, but don’t be fooled. A lot of that came in garbage time, and while he looks solid at times, he’s still a ways away from being a consistent option. Atlanta is one of the best in the league at getting to the QB (7 sacks), and Arizona got to Young 3 times in Week 2. Albeit a small sample size, Young has failed to record a clutch game at home against a good defense in his career.
In a small sample size, Pacheco has recorded one clutch game out of two chances on the road against bad defenses. The Giants are allowing the most fantasy points in the league to the position, so what better time for Pacheco to get it going? He can’t be this bad all season, can he?
Green Bay has allowed a minuscule 78 yards on the ground over the first two games. While the Browns’ backfield has shown promise, it’s still led by rookie options. The team is averaging just 3.6 YPC and has just one rushing touchdown.
This matchup figures to be one of the higher-scoring games on the slate, with two defenses that have allowed quite a bit to opposing offenses. Pickens is 67% consistent on the road against bad defenses, and Chicago is definitely a bad defense. CeeDee will get his this week, but there should be plenty left for Pickens as well.
This wasn’t a great start with Jake Browning at the helm, but it doesn’t bode well that Cincy travels to Minnesota in their first game without Joe Burrow. Combine that with Higgins’ being just 40% consistent on the road against good defenses over the past three seasons and the outlook is bleak for fantasy production this week. He does have a clutch game under his belt, but it doesn’t look like his second one comes this week.
He’s 2 for 2 in clutch games this season, and second in total points. This week, Johnson gets a Seahawks defense that’s one of the worst in the league against the tight end. Expect him to be the security blanket for Spencer Rattler again this week.
Combined, Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet have 9 catches for 72 yards on the season, with just 3 for 12 coming from the rookie. While Loveland doesn’t have much consistency data to go on, Kmet is just 25% consistent at home against bad defenses. While this figures to be a higher scoring game, the Cowboys have been decent against fantasy tight ends this season. Sit those Bears TE this week.
