Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.

Diving into the recent NFL offseason twists and turns, let’s talk NFL Fallout & the Fantasy Impact of it all!

Doing it a bit differently for this one since it was a weird series of events that led to Darren Waller unretiring and taking his talents to South Beach. It began with Jonnu Smith being sent to Pittsburgh as part of the Jalen Ramsey/Minkah Fitzpatrick deal. To fill the void, Miami is sending two late-round picks to the Giants in exchange for Darren Waller. So, how about we take a look at the NFL player fantasy fallout?

NFL Fanatsy Fallout: Junno Impact

At age 29, Jonnu Smith put up career highs of 88 receptions and 884 yards, which are also Dolphins franchise records for tight ends. His eight touchdowns tied a career high. He was a fantasy league winner and ended up fourth in total points and our fourth most consistent option at tight end. He continued the eight-game trend with eight straight clutch games to end the season. Smith became a flex option in fantasy, not just a reliable tight end

NFL Fanatsy Fallout: Waller Return

Darren Waller, on the other hand, has been a dominant fantasy tight end, but those years seem long gone. His 2019 and 2020 seasons are his most impressive. Waller is mainly known for unfulfilled fantasy potential due to injury. Through those two seasons, he missed just one game while posting 197 receptions, 2341 yards, and 11 touchdowns.

Who does this help?

Aaron Rodger

This move gives Aaron Rodgers another legit weapon in Pittsburgh, and he’s shown in the past he likes to target them. Arthur Smith likes to utilize them in his offense.

We know Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will get their chances, but this could open up chances for Malik Washington and a former Seahawks second-rounder.

The Muth

One of our favorites here at BGFS, “Muth”, could lose some targets, especially in the red zone. Pat Freiermuth still has some fantasy value, but it will be limited unless Smith is injured. As stated earlier, it makes me feel a little better that Arthur Smith loves the TE.

DK Metcalf

D.K. Metcalf gets a bit of help in the passing game, so this could open things up a bit for him. Not a huge needle move, but it should help him.
