Every week, Bob Lung tracks those One Week Wonders to see if they maintain their consistency or not!
Each week, I’m bringing you the prior week’s one-week wonders, and we are going to track this all year! Why? We want to see how many of these one-week wonders continue their consistency or not.
As we head into Week 3, the Week 1 and 2 “wonders” are only producing at a 42% consistency rate after the big week. Let’s see who were the Week 3’s One-Week Wonders and whether they look like a potential breakout start moving forward.
One-Week Wonders – Who Do We Trust? – 9/22/2025 – Waiver Wire Week 4
These numbers came from garbage time play. However, let’s be honest, we expect this to happen most weeks. I’m not saying to go and grab Geno off the waiver wire, but with all of the injuries and poor play happening at the quarterback position, he may not be the worst backup to have. They paid him too much money to bench, and there’s no youth behind him either.
The shoulder injury in the Sunday night game versus the Chiefs opened the door for Skattebo to make an impact. That’s exactly what Skattebo did. He was very involved in the running and passing game. If Tracy misses a significant amount of time, he may not get his job back. If Skattebo is available, go grab him off the waiver wire.
There are One Week Wonders, and then there are “wonders” beyond reality. Tre Tucker’s outburst of eight catches for 145 yards and THREE touchdowns was just that for Week 3. He totaled 40.90 fantasy points! The second closest was 24.4 fantasy points. Can we trust him moving forward? I’m going to say no. He may have another huge game, but he may also go the next four weeks under 10 points per week. Let someone else drop a big load of FAAB money on him.
Yes, I am aware of Hunter Henry’s big week, but he’s at least on someone’s roster as a backup. Outside of Jack’s family, I’m not sure anyone has ever heard of him. This is certainly one of those fluke weeks to ignore. Juwan Johnson is the main tight end for the Saints. Stoll just happened to catch a touchdown in a blowout loss.
