Mark Andrews: A Tale of Two NFL Seasons in 2024 and What To Expect in 2025 NFL Fantasy Football!

Those who invested an early round draft pick in 2024 fantasy football drafts on Mark Andrews were likely pretty upset with the start of his season. However, he was involved in a car accident in mid-August. And while he wasn’t seriously injured, the crash was described as “serious.” He didn’t register his first clutch game until Week 5 of the season, but from that point on, Andrews was one of the best tight ends in fantasy football last season.

His 2025 fantasy football ADP isn’t quite at the point it was last season, but Andrews will turn 30 years old in September, leaving fantasy managers questioning whether or not they can trust the three-time Pro Bowler at his current spot in fantasy football drafts. Let’s take a look at the tale of two seasons for Andrews in 2024 and what fantasy managers can expect in 2025.

The Mid-Season Turnaround

At first glance, you’ll see that Andrews ended the year as the TE6 and a respectable 65 percent clutch rate. However, he didn’t register his first clutch game of the season. And he had just six receptions for 65 yards through the first four weeks of the 2024 season. However, Andrews never looked back after that. He went 7-for-9 in clutch games from Weeks 5-13, and was a perfect 4-for-4 after the team’s bye in Week 4.

All of that to say, yes, he started 0-for-4 in clutch games. But over his final 13 games of the season, he was 84.6 percent consistent! Sure, that was propped up by 11 TDs in 13 games, but he has a nose for the end zone. And Lamar Jackson loves to utilize his tight ends in the red zone.

The Post-Accident Boost in Numbers

All of Andrews’ numbers enjoyed a boost once he was nearly two months removed from the date of his car accident. Per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite, take a look at the numbers for Andrews in Weeks 1-4 compared to Weeks 5-18:

For what it’s worth, his 0.69 fantasy points per route run in Weeks 5-18 was better than what A.J. Brown, Ja’Marr Chase, and Brian Thomas Jr. posted for the full 2025 season! Don’t worry, it gets even better. Of tight ends with at least 30 targets from Weeks 5-18, Andrews had the second-best receiving grade. Third-highest percentage of snaps in the slot, fifth-highest percentage of snaps out wide. Third-best yards per route run, and the league’s best aDOT, per Pro Football Focus.

2025 Outlook: A Strong Value

If you take his pace over his final 13 games and extend it out to a full 17-game season. Andrews would have had 64 receptions on 78 targets for 795 yards and 14 touchdowns. That would have made him the TE4 in PPR, TE3 in Half PPR, and TE1 in standard! I strongly believe some lingering effects from that August car crash impacted Andrews in the early part of the season. But he was rock solid the rest of the way.

Yes, the emergence of Isaiah Likely is real, but Baltimore can sustain two tight ends. And the tight end position is heavily utilized in the red zone for this Ravens offense. Per FantasyPros ADP, Andrews is the TE8 off the board, and while he likely is a bit more attractive in standard formats than PPR, the opportunity at this price is too good to pass up for a guy who just got off to a slow start in 2024.
