The season is now in full swing. We have had our appetizer game Thursday night. Watching the Eagles and Falcons battle down to the last second was exciting and will serve as a tasty appetizer until the full slate of games Sunday and not one, but two, Monday night games. By Monday night we will have seen, in most cases, six complete games and of course the highlights from others. Hopefully, by the time we go to bed Monday night, all of our favorite NFL teams and fantasy teams will be 1-0.
Unfortunately, we all realize that for every winner this week, there is a loser. I have compiled rankings for all the offensive lineup positions (QB, RB, WR, TE, PK and DST). In using them use the higher ranked player in lineup decisions. In other words, if a RB is ranked #15 and one is #21, I am suggesting you use the player ranked higher, in this case, #15.
Of course, as I keep telling you, make the decision on your own. Use this and other data you gather as the basis for accumulating the knowledge you gain to make key lineup decisions.
I used Nathan Peterman to be in our pictorial limelight this week. His efforts this week will either propel him closer to potential stardom, or get him chained to the bench as a backup. As you can tell from my rankings, I am not too high on his chances to succeed. By featuring him though I am demonstrating the wistful hope that we all have going into Week 1.
Before we get into the rankings, here is a poem I wrote to celebrate this festive occasion:
Twas the Night Before Football
‘Twas the night before football and all through the house.
Not a creature was stirring, not even my spouse.
The children were all soundly asleep in their beds.
With sweet dreams of wearing little helmets on their heads.
The footballs were hung over the fireplace with care.
As we hoped that Tom Brady would not take all the air.
In my dreams I thought about football, good food and a few beers.
Too bad it would be Joe Buck and Chris Collingsworth abusing my ears.

Now is the time to set your focus on the championship. Keeps your eyes on the prize. The action has started and it is time to get an edge on your opposing owners.
Ask the Experts
When my friend Andy Richardson invited me to provide material for his weekly Fantasy Index Thursday morning "Ask the Experts" column, I was thrilled and honored. Here is the September 6 article from our friends at Fantasy Index. Check out all our comments this week as we answer the question: “who will be the key to your fantasy success?"
