Nease’s Insights—Week 1: Let’s Get Started!

Finally, we are in week 1 of our 2018 fantasy football season. There is a lot to cover so let’s get started. Some leagues have waivers this week, so I have prepared a list of names that are probably available in most leagues. Next week players will have a game under their belts and we can better tell who might help our teams the most.

Here they are, in no particular order:

QB Ryan Tannehill, MIA

QB Ryan Fitzgerald, TB

QB Sam Darnold, NYJ

QB Sam Bradford, ARI

RB Alfred Morris, SF

RB Adrian Peterson, WAS

RB Jordan Wilkins, IND

RB Jamaal Williams, GB

WR Jaron Brown, SEA

WR Bruce Ellington, HOU

WR Phillip Dorsett, NE

WR Dede Westbrook, JAC

WR Quincy Enunwa, NYJ

WR Taywan Taylor, TEN

WR Paul Richardson, WAS

TE Gerald Everett, LAR

TE Jeff Heuerman, DEN

TE Antonio Gates, LAC

TE Jordan Leggett, NYJ

TE Vance McDonald, PIT

TE Jared Cook, OAK

TE Geoff Swain, DAL

Over this last weekend we saw teams cut down to 53-man rosters, establish 10-player practice squad and watched helplessly as the undisclosed injuries of the summer were mostly identified.

The story that stood out this weekend was the trade of Khalil Mack. Oakland received a wealth of draft picks. Chicago mortgaged its future, but gained one of the very best pass rushers in the NFL. They paid a high cost to acquire him and then gave him the highest non-QB contract in the league. The net result is that Mack’s acquisition transforms the Bears already strong defense into the Top 10, with the potential to be even higher. If you can get your hands on their DST, do it.

Here are some links to help you get ready for setting your lineup and making roster decisions.

Of course, all these reports are in a state of flux. As you know, NFL rosters are highly fluid, especially in the first couple of weeks of the season. One team’s cut become another team’s treasure as this game of musical chairs will be continuing in full-swing for a while now.

Now is the time to set your focus on the championship. Keeps your eyes on the prize. The action has started and it is time to get an edge on your opposing owners.

Only a couple of more days to go! Are you ready for some football?  I sure am! All of us at and Big Guy Fantasy Sports are intent on helping you become the champions you want to be.
