Nease’s Insights—Week 11: Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em?

Since springtime we have been discussing how to win a championship. One of the points we covered was getting the highest possible points from our lineup selection. In an average week, most of us leave about 20% of our potential points on our benches. All we can do is make the best choices we can.

I rely heavily on how players gave done in recent games. Their trending PPG average is an indicator of how they are currently performing. It does not always work. This Thursday as we started off Week 11, three of my teams had Calvin Ridley, who has been cold and Marquez Valdes-Scantling who has been consistently hitting double figures recently. I chose MVS and was rewarded with 1.8 points.

Based on the facts, it was the right thing to do. Luck is an X-Factor in our game and things do not always work out in our favor. Nevertheless, we have to narrow the odds and make the best-informed decisions we can.

Here is a Start/Sit listing by position. All of the Start players have had great numbers of late. The Sit players bond are the bad numbers they have provided owners recently.
