The inaugural season is over for the King's Classic - Jim Brown Division!
Thanks again to all of the participants and congrats to the winners!
The Jim Brown Division auction saved the best for last as the title matchup was one of the closest games of the season. The Pro Football Focus team squeaked by Andy Behrens of Yahoo! with a final score of 156.15 – 155.30. Patrick’s victory was fueled by performances from some long time fantasy studs as Antonio Brown and Russell Wilson both smashed their projections, with Brown more than doubling his predicted output. Most of the credit should be given to 2018 fantasy football missing person of the year Doug Baldwin, who finally showed up at the right time for the PFF squad and helped Patrick win the first ever Jim Brown Auction. As for the Yahoo! team, waiver pickups DaeSean Hamilton and Damien Williams both outplayed projections. Green Bay running back Jamaal Williams did his best to bring the crown home for Behrens with just under 25 fantasy points, but it wasn’t enough. Congratulations to Curtis Patrick on his auction win for the Jim Brown Division!
As exciting as the auction championship proved to be, the same cannot be said for the Jim Brown Snake Division championship as Dom Cintorino of RotoExperts routed Brad Evans of Yahoo! 118.60 – 75.75, despite Evans being the projected favorite heading into the game. The RotoExperts team was led by a nearly 50 point outburst from Aaron Rodgers, as well as touchdowns from DaeSean Hamilton and Larry Fitzgerald. These performances were much needed as Chris Hogan failed to score, and Eagles’ running back Josh Adams scored a mere .10 points for the week. Still it was enough for Cintorino to take home the win. Evans failed to have any players exceed weekly projected totals, except for the Falcons defense. Broncos’ tight end Matt LaCosse failed to score, along with Melvin Gordon, Julio Jones and Philip Lindsay all failing to meet projections. Both owners get a big hats’ off as they made the playoffs with 7-6 regular season marks, and a huge congrats goes to Dom Cintorino as the Jim Brown Snake champ!
