With victories in Week 14 both Colby Conway and Mike Tagliere advanced to this week’s auction semifinals. Conway will face off against second seeded Doug Orth in Week 15, while Tagliere takes on Darren Armani, who earned the top seed with an 11-2 record. Conway will rely on his wideout heavy approach to come through yet again but will also need Jared Goff to play well against Philly. Orth is getting Leonard Fornette back at the right time but will also need the Bears defense to keep rolling with big production against the Packers. In the other matchup, Armani will rely on breakout wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster and Adam Thielen to continue to post big numbers, while Tagliere will need Amari Cooper to keep posting big numbers. The matchup could come down to how well Big Ben plays against the Pats at home as he will start for Tagliere’s team.
The first round of the playoffs saw no upsets, so the top four seeds remain. Three seed Gary Davenport will take on the second seeded Mike Woellert while top seed Brandon Funston will take on Mike Tagliere, the fourth seed. Davenport’s team will need big games from Tom Brady as well as rookie stud Zeke Elliott, while Woellert’s team is going to need all four running backs to chip in around Antonio Brown who is in for a big day against New England. In the other matchup, Mahomes, Lindsay and Julio Jones lead the way for Funston’s team with the biggest question mark being Trey Burton at tight end. Tagliere’s team is led by Todd Gurley (as are most playoff teams) but he has also benefitted from Amari Cooper’s recent resurgence, as well as Gus Edwards being a solid waiver wire find.
