After slugging it out for 13 weeks in the inaugural King’s Classic fantasy football leagues playoff time is upon us. After a regular season that has flown by, six teams remain in the snake and auction divisions. They will battle it out for the right to claim the golden t-shirt, but more importantly, the right to claim the first ever King’s Classic championship!
The Blanda Snake division will see Darren Armani of Fantasy Mojo sit atop the playoff bracket as the number one overall seed, as well as tying Brandon Funston’s Blanda auction team as having the best overall record in either division at 11-2. Doug Orth of FF Today will get a week of rest as the two seed at 9-4. Week 14 sees the three seed Mike Woellert of 4 for 4 fantasy taking on Mike Tagliere of Fantasy Pros, who slides in as the six seed despite having a losing record at 6-7. Like Pat Daugherty in the Brown Division, Woellert was able to make an impressive run with zero production of Le’Veon Bell. The other first round matchup pits Colby Conway’s fourth seeded Fantasy Alarm team against the Tozzi Brothers of the Legion Report, who come in at 8-5 as the fifth seed.
In the auction, Brandon Funston of SiriusXM sits atop the standings at 11-2, and gets the week off as the number one seed. Mike Woellert comes in as the two, making the playoffs as a three seed or higher in both leagues. The 3 vs. 6 matchup illustrates just how competitive these leagues were as both Gary Davenport of Fantasy Sharks and Colby Conway of Fantasy Alarm both sport 6-7 records, with Conway making the playoffs in both leagues as well. The fifth seeded Rotoballer team of Josh Hayes and Nick Mariano will face fourth seeded Mike Tagliere, who made also made the playoffs in both leagues.
