Football DFS 2019: Consistently Cashin' - Week 15

Every week, Colby Conway and Ron Rigney uses CONSISTENCY to help you win your Cash Games in FanDuel and DraftKings! Follow them @colbyconway and @therealmaday.

Welcome to Consistently Cashin’! Colby Conway and Ron Rigney use the famous consistency concept, pioneered by Bob Lung, to anchor your DFS lineups with consistent options to help you post a high total each week. Having multiple consistent options allows you to take some risks with lower priced guys that have quantifiable upside. Be sure to check out the Consistently Cashin Podcast as well!

Quarterbacks

Ryan Tannehill, TEN -- Tannehill has been darn good of late, and while he’s just 56 percent consistent on the season, two of those games are throwaways cause he attempted less than 17 passes. So, if you consider from just Week 7 on, he’s actually five of seven on the year, which is good! Plus, Houston’s defense was torched by Drew Lock, and Tannehill can do it with his arm or his legs. Despite going against my Texans, he’s my preferred play at quarterback this week.

Jameis Winston, TB -- Despite throwing 23 picks on the season, Winston has still been posting big point totals in the DFS world.  He sits fifth in total points and 62% consistent on the year, which is surprising given his fondness for turning it over.  He faces a very fantasy friendly defense in the Detroit Lions, and with the defense backing him giving up quite a bit to the QB spot as well, look for Winston to have another big game. Let’s just hope the touchdowns outnumber the interceptions.

Honorable Mention -- Deshaun Watson

Running Backs

Chris Carson, SEA -- Rashad Penny’s injury solidifies Carson as a workhorse the rest of the way and the combination of his 69 percent clutch rating on the year and his matchup makes him one of the best plays on the slate. Carson has at least 15 touches in all but one game this season, so the volume is certainly there. The Panthers have allowed 21 rushing touchdowns this season and the most fantasy points per game to running backs. Carson is a must start and is my ultimate building block for Week 15.

Raheem Mostert, SF -- As Coach Shanahan said, and I paraphrase, Mostert has given the team every reason to let him serve as the lead back. Mostert has scored a touchdown in three straight games and has double-digit touches in back-to-back games. He’s the hot hand in that backfield, and San Francisco wants to establish the run. He’s an intriguing play in Week 15.

Sony Michel, NE -- The Big Guy crew debated on how good of a start he is this week amongst ourselves.  Since I have to roll with him in a few big spots in yearly leagues, and Mr. Bob Lung has a gut feeling he could go off, I’m rolling with him here.  Let’s hope for some holiday magic!  After all, it is the Bengals he’s facing, and they may want to rely on him as the work horse this week.

Honorable Mention -- Saquon Barkley, James White

Wide Receivers

DeAndre Hopkins, HOU -- Hopkins is 85 percent consistent on the season and he even tweeted the word “consistent” this week, so it’s a sign! Hopkins has at least seven targets in every game this season, and for his career against the Titans, Hopkins is averaging 6.4 receptions, 10.0 targets, 99.5 receiving yards and 0.6 receiving touchdowns per game! Will Fuller is expected to play, which should help with the Titans doubling Hopkins on every play of the game.

Chris Godwin, TB -- No Mike Evans this week, meaning Godwin is the team’s clear-cut, without a doubt WR1, and he should see a boat load of targets! Darius Slay might travel with Godwin a good bit, but we’ll see if Slay makes his way into the slot to cover Godwin. Regardless, Godwin is going to dominate this matchup, and a clutch game this weekend will push him one step closer to eclipsing 80 percent for the year.

Darius Slayton, NYG -- Slayton makes for a hugely affordable option, and has posted a Clutch Game seven out of 11 times out this season.  The rookie has been targeted 48 times over the past four games and faces a Dolphins defense that allows the second most points in the league to the position.  Golden Tate’s return could take away a few targets, but Slayton is emerging as a playmaker in this offense.

Honorable Mention -- Dede Westbrook, Terry McLaurin

Tight Ends

Ian Thomas, CAR -- Back in on Thomas again this week! He caught five of 10 targets last week for 57 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons in Week 14, and now this week, he gets a tasty matchup against the Seahawks. Do you know how many teams have allowed more fantasy points per game over the last four weeks to tight ends than the Seahawks? The answer is none. They have allowed the most points in the aforementioned span! Start Thomas.

David Njoku, CLE -- Some defenses deserve to be picked on because they are bad.  The Cardinals have been awful at defending the tight end and are the only team in the league that has allowed double digit touchdowns to the position. It may not be a huge day for catches and yards for Njoku, but I look for him to get in the end zone at least once and justify his bargain price tag.

Honorable Mention -- Mike Gesicki, Jack Doyle, Zach Ertz

DST

Patriots — They’ll get back on track here this week. Plenty of upside here!

Raiders -- The Jags have been atrocious offensively as of late, and the Raiders D is a nice value this week.  Look for them to get to the QB and force a turnover or two.

Honorable Mention -- Bucs, Packers
