Fantasy Baseball 2020: Consistent Undervalued – 3B

Nick Young compares 2020 NFBC Average Draft Position to our Clutch Rate and Clutch Rate Rankings providing you with consistency targets for your H2H fantasy baseball leagues. Follow him @Nick0629Nick on twitter.

The corners are 2 of the most important positions for a fantasy baseball team especially with names such as Alex Bregman and Rafael Devers taking the big stage and shining. For the purposes of this article however, I will be showing you 3 highly consistent players to target more than their ADP suggest. With these, you will be able to stack your team without spending a high draft pick for them.

MIKE MOUSTAKAS

Mike Moustakas

Cincinnati Reds

82.1

Moustakas bounced around teams during the 2019 MLB season which caused him to only slightly increase his avg from .251 in 2018 to .254 in 2019. Hopefully with a new team in the twins he can have a resurgence and recover from his lowest stats since 2016

On the flip side however, Moustakas was consistent 75% of the time showing that he still has gas in the tank and is not a one bite wonder. Drafting him in the 8th round would be highly beneficial for your team, I had him in 2019 and thought that this new team would be a great chance for him to build off of last year.

TOMMY La STELLA

Tommy La Stella

Los Angeles Angels

La Stella is going to be my 3rd baseman to go after, with a 71% consistency and a 25th round ADP, he is going to be a massive steal. La Stella had his highest Batting Average of his career going for .295 and 16 homeruns, La Stella had a major resurgence going from the Chicago Cubs to the Angels.

La Stella has a lot of room to grow in the Angels system but I think he has the potential of being in the top 4 next season just based off of what he showed. If I were to run my team again next season I would definitely be taking La Stella in the 25th round.

MIGUEL SANO

Miguel Sano

Minnesota

Sano is just a step below Moustakas in terms of consistency but can be drafted 2 rounds later. After posting his career highest with 34 Homeruns, Sano backed that up with a .247 batting average and played 34 more games than 2018. Being drafted in the 10th round with a 72% consistency would be a major asset whereas you could draft someone such as Jose Ramirez who was drafted in the 2nd round and 5th highest ranked 3B but only had a 60% consistency. I would much rather have a lower ADP third baseman who will constantly bring me medium level points.

Make sure to follow up on the rest of our positional ADP vs CR articles to help build your best fantasy team for the 2020 MLB season. Putting these guys in your roster would be a major asset and improve your team immensely against your opponents.
