Whit Merrifield, a guy that is absolutely underrated, as he is a threat to hit .300 annually, steal 15 to 20 bags and provide some pop, along with the bevy of runs scored he provides. Merrifield provides his fantasy owners a 75% CR, a high mark for the top heavy 2B position. In round 4 Merrifield is a steal as an all around player who can plug into your 2B and give you a difference maker all season long.

Mike Moustakas: Cincinnati, 31 yo.

Just as consistent as Merrifield above, Mous provides a proven power punch to his fantasy investors, as well as 2B/3B eligibility. Since 2017, Mous has averaged 34 HR’s, a very healthy mark for your 2B slot. Surprisingly, Moustakas isn’t a batting average drain, traditionally hitting north of .250, which shouldn’t negatively affect your roto bottom line. A ball park and lineup shift to Cincy should certainly help Moustakas maintain his excellent power production, he’s a really nice target even in shallow leagues as he will help you reach the power numbers you have to hit to be competitive.

Tommy La Stella: Los Angeles, 31 yo.

Tommy La Stella certainly isn’t established, but he could provide some serious fantasy value if he can pick up where he left in 2019, where he popped 16 HR’s and posted a .295/.346/.486 triple slash in 80 games before going down with a fractured tibia. La Stella has really solid plate discipline (20 BB, 28 K’s in 2019) and could even potentially hit near the top of the order in LA, if things break his way. La Stella is best suited for deeper leagues, as he has a solid floor given his elite contact rate and his uber low K rate (9% K Rate). TLS is a nice pivot if you chose to wait and wait at 2B in your deeper formats.

Be sure to check out all of the positional ADP vs CR breakdowns by our fantasy baseball writing team to ensure you don’t pass up on consistency at any point in your drafts. Filling your roster with these types of steady assets will give you the weekly advantage over your opponents in head to head leagues in 2020.
