Week 2 in NFL Fantasy Football means we need to take a look at “Who’s Hot & Who’s Not” based on the consistency model.
Each week, Colby Conway gives his insight on the consistency of the players in your season-long leagues! Find out who’s been (HOT) consistent and (NOT HOT) inconsistent in order to help you make waiver wire claims and start/sit decisions this year.
Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season is in the books! The fantasy football managers are already buzzing about the biggest takeaways and trying not to overreact to their first-round pick struggling after the first game. In this week’s edition of Who’s Hot and Who’s Not, we’ll dive into standout performances from Justin Fields and Travis Etienne. At the same time, dissecting the Week 1 numbers for Mark Andrews and Nico Collins.

Who’s Hot?
Justin Fields, New York Jets
A little walk down narrative street certainly never hurts. And that added motivation probably helped a little bit with his monster Week 1 performance. Fields completed 72.7 percent of his passes for 218 yards and one touchdown. He added 48 yards and two scores on the ground. Justin got the important carries around the goal line. As long as the games stay close, he can be a dual-threat option. He is capable of putting up a top-5 week on any given Sunday.
Travis Etienne Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
Etienne logged a clutch game in Week 1. And, if there were any questions about who the RB1 in Jacksonville is, it seems like those questions have been answered. Etienne had the second-most rushing yards in the NFL in Week 1. And, he nearly doubled the carries (16) that LeQuint Allen, Tank Bigsby, and Bhayshul Tuten had combined (9). Oh, the Jaguars also traded Tank Bigsby to the Eagles, so that’s one less back with which to contend.
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
It’s not every day that you have a tight end leading a team in air yards share, but Johnson did just that in Week 1! The target share was strong, his route participation was elite, and he ran 61.5 percent of his routes from the slot (43.3% in 2024), per Fantasy Points.
Who’s Not?
Nico Collins, Houston Texans
Collins posted a 31% first-read rate last year. But, in the first game of the Nick Caley era, his first read rate was down at 25%. He caught just three of five targets, per Fantasy Points. His route chart below is atrocious. Caley has to find a way to scheme him open. With no Christian Kirk or a notable run game, Collins has to be utilized heavily if Houston wants to get the ball into the end zone.
Kenneth Walker, Seattle Seahawks
Walker was quiet in Week 1, and there were some videos circulating of him wincing and favoring his ailing foot. Walker was more involved in the passing game than Zach Charbonnet, but Charbonnet had more carries and more snaps overall. What was very interesting, too, was that the majority of Walker’s runs came via a man/gap concept. He averaged just 1.29 yards per carry on those runs, per Fantasy Points. There should be enough going forward for both guys, but not an ideal Week 1 for Walker.
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
It’s only one game, so we have to give some players some grace. However, it’s never encouraging when one of the team’s top options in the passing game doesn’t make any noise when the team scores 40 points! Andrews saw just one target in this contest, and primarily played inline (61.5 in Week 1, 19.5% in 2024), per Fantasy Points. I wouldn’t fret over Andrews after one bad game, but it’s certainly a disappointing start to the campaign.
