Happy Halloween everyone, hope you all have a wonderful day full of spooky goodness! For this Halloween weekend, week 9, the contenders in fantasy leagues are starting to stand out as injuries continue to pile up across the league. This week the NFL has the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers on bye. Those two teams have a good amount of fantasy starters between them so it’s important to see who’s in this week’s “Under the Radar” article for your fantasy lineups. QB Bo Nix – DEN vs. @BAL (Rostered 32%, Started 14% on Yahoo!)
Bo Nix has been quietly balling out recently and leads all rookie quarterbacks in total touchdowns this season with 12. Through the first eight weeks he’s got a 50% CR (Clutch Ratio) but a closer look reveals that he’s been getting better each week, he’s had a clutch game in three of his last four games played. Bo Nix came into the league as one of the most pro-ready quarterbacks having started 61 games in college and he’s shown a penchant for being a playmaker. Fantasy managers know that a quarterback who can also use their legs is like a cheat code, well Nix has 259 yards on the ground this season to go along with four rushing touchdowns. Those numbers along with his passing ability (averaging 190+ yards a game with eight touchdowns) have pushed Nix into QB1 territory. On the year Bo is QB11 overall and this week he has a great matchup against the Baltimore Ravens who have given up the most passing yards (2,493) and passing touchdowns (17) to opposing quarterbacks. Bo should be rostered in leagues of all formats (even one quarterback) and needs to be started moving forward. Right now, I would start him over all but a handful of quarterbacks in fantasy (LJ, Allen, Mayfield, Kyler, and maybe Hurts or Daniels). Teams who have already made the switch have been reaping the benefits over the past few weeks, don’t let any Halloween fear stop you from a top-end quarterback moving forward.
