Every year fantasy players get caught up on star players and often make choices based on those names. When looking at who to fill your lineup with it’s easier to go with a big name player although they may have some shortcomings in the points department. We’ve all heard the “always start your studs” crowd however those choices can quickly become mistakes. Once you’ve figured that out it’s often too late and those couple of games that you held on turned out to be the difference between a successful season and a disaster. Good for you I’ve used our consistency tools and identified a few consistent players that’ll give you an edge moving forward!
QB Jared Goff – @DET vs. SEA (Rostered 75%, Started 23% on Yahoo!)
Jared Goff had an 89% Clutch Ratio (amount of consistently high scoring games over total games played) when he played at home last year and often gets left out of the elite options at QB. Last season he averaged 21.28 points per game at home which jumped up to 23.63 when facing an average rated defense (which Seattle is for this week’s matchup). The Seahawks are fresh off of giving up 17.80 points to Matthew Stafford in week 1 who was without his top receiving option (Kupp). Couple that with the fact that the last two times these teams met they combined for 80 and 93 points, I am very comfortable firing up Goff moving forward. He profiles as a high scoring, consistent QB that can win you multiple weeks, especially in his home matchups!
