We had seen in the past couple of years, the number of tight ends incrementally increase in two categories:
- Number of TE’s over 200+ Fantasy Points
- Number of TE’s over 65% consistency
After 2021 gave us some hope for solid consistency at the tight end position, 2022 returned back to the horrible levels of 2020. Once again, we are back to the draft a tight end early or get stuck with terrible consistency and total points.
Here’s the breakdown for both:

Of course, the top dawg was Travis Kelce as he was over 100 points ahead of T.J. Hockenson and George Kittle. They were the other two over the 200 point threshold. However, Kittle did not exceed 65% consistency. He was at 60%. The third and fourth tight ends over 65% outside of Kelce and Hockenson were Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz. Ertz only played 10 games and missed the rest of the season.
Let’s look at those tight ends ranked in their projected Tier for 2023 and show you their 2022 total points and consistency and where they ranked in those categories in 2022.
So, let’s start with the top tier of tight ends.
