Fantasy Football – Consistency Check-In – Week 2

Welcome to the Consistency Check-in! Each week Ron Rigney will highlight players at each position that either barely recorded a Clutch Game, or fell just short. Are they must adds, or must drops? Was it a fluke or is there consistency to be had? Come back here each week to find out!  Follow Ron on Twitter @ronrigney

Geno Smith, QB – SEA

Smith helped the ‘Hawks earn the victory Monday night in a game they shouldn’t have won. He did some good things, including going 17-18 for 164 yards in the first half. After that hot start, he added just 31 more yards to that total in the second half. Smith looked impressive at times, standing strong in the pocket, and delivering some darts into tight windows. Let’s go ahead and chalk this win up to Denver’s slip ups on both sides of the ball, more than it was Smith’s effort. Will he continue to post clutch games? In Week 2 against San Fran, I don’t see it. However in Weeks 3 and 4 he lines up against the Falcons and the Lions, so there could be some consistency to be had there, but don’t get used to it.
