NFL Fantasy Football Week 10: Under the Radar with Consistency!

Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.

NFL Fantasy Football Week 10 is upon us. In the “Under the Radar with Consistency” series this week, I’ve got some Clutch players who’ll boost your lineup for the second half of the NFL season.

The NFL season is officially past the halfway mark now, and fantasy managers are digging in. For NFL Fantasy Football Week 10, the “Under the Radar” series focuses on some players who can help your team down the stretch.

For those who are new or need a refresher, here are a few key terms and definitions to help you during the season when reading.

  • Clutch Factor (CF) – the average points a player needs to meet or exceed a Clutch Game based on scoring settings and league size. Think QB1, RB2, WR2, and TE1 thresholds.
  • Clutch Games (CG) – weekly per-game award for a player who hits the CF factor. The more of these, the more consistent the player is.
  • Clutch Rate (CR) – total of CG earned divided by total games; top fantasy players are usually > 70%.
  • Football Consistency Report Tool (Scoring can be edited/Standard listed below)
    • Based on 12-team leagues
    • 4 points per passing touchdown
    • 6 points for all other touchdowns
    • 1 point per reception (PPR)
    • 1 point per 20 passing yards
    • 1 point per 10 rushing yards or 10 receiving yards

QB Sam Darnold, SEA, NFL Fantasy Football Week 10.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen several quarterbacks come off the scrap heap and become legitimate starting quarterbacks. Sam Darnold has been one of the best, earning Pro Bowl honors last season and now being a potential MVP candidate this season.

Darnold is being mentioned as a possible league MVP this season despite his 50% CR. He comes into Week 10 with 3 Clutch Games out of his last 4 played. During that stretch, he is averaging 21.6 points per game; for the season, that would have him as QB5.

There was a flurry of trades at the deadline this week, and the Seahawks got in on the action by trading for Rashid Shaheed. Adding a WR like that to an already stacked receiving room that features Jaxon Smith-Njigba will make Darnold even more dangerous.

Darnold is rostered in less than 60% of leagues, which surprises me. Coming off a season of 35 touchdown passes with the Minnesota Vikings, and now pacing for 34 more this season, has him firmly in the conversation for being a QB1.

RB Kyle Monangai, CHI,

The Chicago Bears brought in Ben Johnson as their new Head Coach this offseason, and he drafted Kyle Monangai as his hand-picked RB. Monangai didn’t see the field a lot early on, but that’s changed as he’s had a 45%+ snap percentage each of the last three weeks.

Monangai’s CR is at 25% due to low playing time. He has upped that recently with clutch games in two of his last three games played. He’s averaging 14.2 points per game over that same three-game stretch. That number is extremely close to Ashton Jeanty (14.5), the first overall rookie RB drafted this season.

(2025 Statistics: 25% CR, RB47: 7.4 PPG, 76% Rostered on Yahoo!)

There is definitely some concern with D’Andre Swift, the incumbent RB1 for the Bears, but Monangai has shown he’s fully capable of handling the full load. Swift is currently nursing a groin injury, and if he misses extended time, it’s “wheels up” for Monangai!

His current roster percentage in fantasy leagues is at 76% which is a little higher than I normally highlight, but I felt Monangai had to be mentioned this week before it’s too late. I recently dropped Zach Charbonnet for him, so I’m in, and you should be too.

WR Troy Franklin, DEN,

As I mentioned, several trades were completed before the deadline, just as important as the deals made were deals not made. The Denver Broncos were expected to make a move for a WR, or at least that’s what most fans thought (Hello Jaylen Waddle). When a deal didn’t happen, the stock for Troy Franklin rose.

Franklin has hit two clutch games in the last three weeks, but his 33% CR leaves us wanting more. Over those past three weeks, Franklin has had at least a 62% snap rate, which he hadn’t hit that number since Week 3. His 16.03 points per game during that stretch as WR9 for the season makes him a borderline WR2/WR3 moving forward.

The lack of a trade by the Broncos means Sean Payton is confident in his current receiving room. That confidence, along with Marvin Mims in concussion protocol, sets up Franklin as the number two target in the offense behind Courtland Sutton.

Franklin was on this list last week, as I liked him before the trade deadline. Now, with that behind us, he’s a locked WR2/WR3 even more. For teams that need a bye-week fill-in, I highly suggest Franklin, even if you don’t need him; he’s a great stash moving forward.

WR Josh Downs, IND, NFL Fantasy Football Week 10.

The Indianapolis Colts went all-in at the trade deadline. They traded WR Adonai Mitchell and two 1st round draft picks for Sauce Gardner. The Colts had a crowded receiving room. By moving on from Mitchell, Josh Downs should see a target spike (although Mitchell has been in the doghouse lately).

63% CR has Downs as a top 30 consistency WR this season. He was banged up early on but has gotten hot with four straight games coming in as Clutch Games (he missed Week 7 with an injury). His 14.05 points per game during that four-game stretch would have him ranked as WR19 for the season.

(2025 Statistics: 63% CR, WR46: 10.3 PPG, 57% Rostered on Yahoo!)

Downs is currently 3rd on the Colts in targets. That’s despite playing one less game than the two players above him (Michael Pittman Jr. and Tyler Warren). For the season, he has five games of 11+ points and continues to be exceptionally consistent.

There’s a clear path for Downs to continue producing due to Daniel Jones playing well. Downs is a WR4/FLEX who has high-end WR2 potential.

TE Juwan Johnson, NO, NFL Fantasy Football Week 10.

Early on this season, we had several tight ends putting up surprising numbers. One of those was Juwan Johnson for the New Orleans Saints. Johnson started with three TE1 weeks, but then he hit a lull with three bad games. Although with the trade of Rashid Shaheed, he’s back on the menu again!

Every year, the TE position seems to be difficult to navigate, and this season is no different. Johnson enters Week 10 with a 56% CR, and he’s narrowly missed being on a three-game Clutch streak (currently the Clutch Factor for TEs is 10.46, and he scored 10.3 in Week 8).

(2025 Statistics: 56% CR, TE15: 9.9 PPG, 40% Rostered on Yahoo!)

With Shaheed being sent to Seattle, it’ll open up more targets for Johnson. He’s already been a TE1 for five weeks this season. In games where he’s gotten 5+ targets, Johnson has averaged 13.16 points per game. That’s good for TE8 on the season, and I expect Johnson to be a top two target for the Saints for the rest of the season.

Getting a TE1 off the waiver wire is a big get, especially in a week where we’re seeing a ton of FAAB spent to acquire Luke Musgrave. Johnson being available in 60% of leagues means that there’s a good chance you can grab him for free.
