Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.
Week 9 in NFL Fantasy Football means we need to take a look at Week 8’s “Who’s Hot & Who’s Not” based on the consistency model.
Each week, Colby Conway gives his insights on the consistency of the players in your season-long leagues! Find out who’s been (HOT) consistent and (NOT HOT) inconsistent to help you make waiver wire claims and start/sit decisions for Week 8 NFL Fantasy Football.
Seven weeks of the NFL season have passed, and it’s time to really dig in on the performances of these players. In this week’s edition of Who’s Hot and Who’s Not, we’ll dive into standout performances from Tucker Kraft and Ladd McConkey, while determining the appropriate level of concern for guys like Jakobi Meyers and Hunter Henry.
Don’t forget, you can see how consistent your players are in your league with your scoring method by checking theConsistency Report.
Don’t look now, but Nix is your QB2 in points per game over the last five weeks! Thanks to back-to-back clutch games, he’s now up to 50% on the season. He should undoubtedly be better than 50% consistent moving forward! He has a tough matchup in Week 9 against Houston, but afterwards, he’s got the Raiders (x2), Chiefs, and Commanders.
Kraft is the TE1 in fantasy with 18.3 fantasy points per game over the last five weeks. On top of scoring four touchdowns over his last four games, he’s also averaging 75 yards per game during that span! He’s handling a healthy 18.5% target share, and 2.75 yards per route run, per FantasyPoints. His clutch rating sits at 71%, which is among the best at the position.
After a very slow start, McConkey is up to 63% consistent thanks to four straight clutch games. During his clutch game streak, he’s averaging 73.5 yards per game, along with a 26.5% target share, and 2.01 yards per route run, per FantasyPoints. The Chargers will continue to air it out and a favorable schedule looms for McConkey the next few weeks.
Poor QB play and an underwhelming offense has unquestionably killed Meyers this season for fantasy purposes. Meyers is averaging just four receptions for 33.7 yards per game over his last three. At this point, with Bowers returning this week, the best-case scenario for Meyers would be Las Vegas trading him to a WR-needy team at the upcoming trade deadline.
Walker hasn’t found the end zone since Week 3 of the season, and Zach Charbonnet is stealing all the goal line work! Charbonnet has 13 carries inside the 10-yard line, whereas Walker has just five carries. Furthermore, Charbonnet has 75 percent of the team’s carries inside the 5-yard line! This is hurting Walker in fantasy, and a big reason as to why clutch games have eluded him in recent weeks, despite averaging 14 carries per game over his last four contests.
Henry has been held to single-digit fantasy points (PPR) in four straight games. Furthermore, he’s failed to surpass 50 yards in any of his last five games. Sure, his lone catch this past week went for a touchdown, but it was his only catch of the game. With ample weapons at Drake Maye’s disposal, Henry is likely going to need touchdowns to notch those clutch games.
