Week 5 NFL Prop Picks
Breece Hall OVER 70.5 Rushing Yards (-111)
The Cowboys have allowed the ninth-highest explosive run rate on the season, per FantasyPoints, and with no Braelon Allen in the mix, expect a lot of Breece Hall in this rush-heavy New York offense. Of running backs with at least 50 carries on the season, Hall ranks first in explosive run rate, and T-2nd in yards after contact per attempt. This should be a good game for points scored, and Hall will be the straw that stirs the drink for the Jets in Week 5.
Darius Slayton OVER 40.5 Receiving Yards (-109)
With Malik Nabers out of the mix, the Giants will need Slayton to step up. He’s recorded at least 44 yards in two of his last three, and he’s the receiver that the team can trust on plays downfield. I expect some of the training wheels to come off of Jaxson Dart in Week 5, and hopefully, they let him sling it downfield. The Saints have allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to players on the perimeter. When lined up out wide, Slayton has a 12.5 aDOT, 15.0 yards per reception, and 5.1 yards per target over expectation, per FantasyPoints.

TreVeyon Henderson Longest Rush OVER 9.5 Yards (-105)
To say the least, Carolina has been gashed on the ground this year for 5.22 yards per carry. Furthermore, they’ve allowed the third-most yards after contact per attempt, and 8th-most yards before contact per attempt, per FantasyPoints. The Panthers have allowed 7.50 yards per carry (2nd-most) on zone concept runs this season, and nearly three-fourths of Robinson’s carries this year have been zone concept runs (5.92 YPC). In two games against Carolina last season, Robinson totaled 265 rushing yards on 43 carries with four touchdowns.
Mason Taylor OVER 3.5 Receptions (+135) and OVER 34.5 Receiving Yards (-111)
Taylor received a significant amount of hype in the preseason. However, his first two games were duds. The past two weeks, Taylor has gone 4/18 and 6/82/1. This week, the Jets welcome the one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL in the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys numbers versus tight ends over the first four weeks are as follows: 8/45; 5/34; 2/41; and 6/62. Therefore, 4/34 seems easily attainable this week for Taylor.
Tommy Tremble – OVER 24.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
We’re sticking with the tight end position and going to Carolina, where the Panthers take on the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are ranked 30th in giving up the most fantasy points to tight ends. Last week, versus the Jets, Tremble had six catches for 88 receiving yards. This should be a pass-happy game. I like the over for Tremble here.
David Montgomery – OVER 51.5 Rushing Yards (-111)
David Montgomery has been his usual consistent self so far this season. However, this week’s game should “right the ship” and get Monty back on the consistent path. Cincinnati is the 31st worst team in giving up fantasy points to the running backs. If you remember a couple of weeks ago when Monty went up against the WORST team (Ravens), he rushed for 151 yards. I believe 52 yards should be pretty easy for Monty to exceed.
