NFL Fantasy Week 5 Start/Sits Advice & Football Strategy
Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.
It could be a bit rough without Malik Nabers, but Dart got the win in his first start, and while the stats weren’t eye popping, he played well. He also ran for 54 yards and a score, to propel him to a clutch game. I know we aren’t big fans of rookies here, but this sets up as a nice matchup in Dart’s second start.
Lawrence is 0 for 6 in earning clutch games at home against good defenses since 2022. The Jags record is 3-1, but Lawrence has been just 25% consistent on the season and hasn’t done much outside of one start for fantasy owners. If you have another option, look there for Week 5.
The Titans have allowed some big fantasy days to RB lately (look at those Jonathan Taylor and Woody Marks statlines) and Arizona figures to be able to gain some yards on the ground. With the recent news of Trey Benson heading to IR, Demercado becomes a hot waiver addition and start, especially at FLEX. Michael Carter was signed from the practice squad, so he will get work, but Mercado’s upside as a receiver makes him the one to start.
This one is simple, he’s not expected to play although at the time of writing this he hasn’t been ruled out. Even if he does suit up, he’s going to be limited or be the emergency back. Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne will divide up the work. Dowdle is likely owned in your league, but if Etienne is available in deeper leagues he’s an intriguing FLEX play.
You’re already starting Jakobi Meyers, but what else is there on the Raiders pass offense? Tucker has had one big week, and not much sense then. He did earn a clutch game Week 1, but it was because he scored a TD. Both teams allow lots of fantasy points to WR’s. The total currently sits at 47.5 points, so there should be a fair amount of passing stats to go around. Brock Bowers not being healthy means somebody else will have to step up for LV. Why not Tucker?
Shakir is just 2 for 8 in clutch games when facing average defenses at home. He’s been solid in all but one game this season. The Pats rank in the middle of the pack against fantasy WR, but Shakir is a tough one to start this week.
Bryce Young looks to still be Bryce Young, so it would stand to reason the tight end figures to be heavily involved in the offense. With Ja’Tavion Sanders out in Week 4, Tremble saw eight targets, and hauled in five for 42 and a score. It just so happens they face the Dolphins in Week 5 who have allowed the most receiving yards to the position. It’s a nice affordable fill-in for the start of bye weeks.
This was a good call last week in the start column. This week, Henry needs to be on your bench. He’s just 25% consistent against good defenses on the road since 2022. Buffalo happens to be the best in the league when it comes to defending the tight end, allowing a mind-blowing 67 yards in the first four weeks of the season.
