Week 5 in NFL Fantasy Football means we need to take a look at Week 4’s “Who’s Hot & Who’s Not” based on the consistency model.
Each week, Colby Conway gives his insights on the consistency of the players in your season-long leagues! Find out who’s been (HOT) consistent and (NOT HOT) inconsistent in order to help you make waiver wire claims and start/sit decisions this year.
Four weeks of the NFL season have passed, and fantasy managers are doing their best to have rational reactions to the first quarter of the season. However, I’ll urge you not to get too high or too low quite yet. In this week’s edition of Who’s Hot and Who’s Not, we’ll dive into standout performances from Woody Marks and Patrick Mahomes, while determining the appropriate level of concern for guys like Sam LaPorta and Calvin Ridley.
Don’t forget, you can see how consistent your players are in your league with your scoring method by checking the Consistency Report.

Who’s Hot & Who’s Not – 9/30/2025 – NFL Fantasy Week 5
Who’s Hot!
Woody Marks, Houston Texans
It was only going to be a matter of time before the Texans started feeding Marks. Nick Chubb looks washed, and Marks clearly has the juice. His snap share has increased each week, and he totaled 17 carries and five targets in Week 4. In that win against Tennessee, Marks totaled 119 yards and found the end zone twice. Chubb will continue to be involved, but Marks is clearly the most talented back on this team. The clutch games should roll in for Marks moving forward. Get ready to spend some FAAB!
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes has 20+ fantasy points in three of four games this year. The Chiefs have one of the highest pass rate over expectation on the year, which is great for his fantasy floor. Furthermore, don’t overlook the fact that his average of 32.5 rushing yards per game would easily be the highest of his career! I hate to say it, but Mahomes might be back, ladies and gentlemen… Finally!
Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
Jake Ferguson continues to handle a strong route participation, and he’s received at least six targets in every game this season. In fact, his 9.8 targets per game and 16.2 expected fantasy points per game are the best amongst tight ends, per Fantasy Points. He’s unquestionably solidified himself as one of the few consistent, reliable tight ends that you’ll be starting on a weekly basis without a doubt.
Who’s Not!
Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans
Cakvin Ridley has yet to score double-digit fantasy points in a single game this season! After three games to begin the year with a 78+ percent route share, he ran a route on just 40 percent of the team’s dropbacks in Week 4, per Fantasy Points. Yikes! Supposedly, he was playing with an injury, so that is something to monitor. At this point forward, Ridley simply can’t be trusted. Cam Ward has a 61.3 passer rating when targeting Ridley, which is undoubtedly porous. Hence, my concern with Ridley is pretty high at this point.
Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
LaPorta has yet to score a touchdown this season! Can you believe it!? Furthermore, after recording nine targets in Week 1, he has just 12 total targets over the last three weeks combined! Four targets per game isn’t going to cut it. With that workload, it is going to be hard for him to rack up clutch games. He has a good schedule coming up for tight ends, so if he can’t produce the next few weeks, serious questions will arise around LaPorta. Subsequently, the term “bust” might start getting thrown around.
Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers
Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne becoming more involved by the week is concerning for Hubbard. He only handled 35.7% of the carries in Week 4. Volume was key for Hubbard’s fantasy value, and if Dowdle and Etienne are going to continue to be in the mix at this high a rate, there are undoubtedly going to be some questions about Hubbard moving forward. I am indeed a bit worried about Cuba Hubbard.
