NFL Fantasy Football Week 5: Under the Radar with Consistency!

Welcome Back! Big Guy Fantasy Sports is thrilled to bring you another year of the best in NFL consistency rankings and championship fantasy football strategy.

NFL Fantasy Football Week 5 was a great week for rookies in the fantasy world! In the “Under the Radar with Consistency” series, I’ve found a couple of players who are worth taking a look at. Who’s Clutch and going unnoticed?

This week gave us some reassurance for rookie RBs. We saw Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, and R.J. Harvey all produce big time. For NFL Fantasy Football Week 5, the “Under the Radar” series includes one of those rookies and a few veterans worth rostering.

For those who are new or need a refresher, here are a few key terms and definitions to help you during the season when reading.

  • Clutch Factor (CF) – the average points a player needs to meet or exceed a Clutch Game based on scoring settings and league size. Think QB1, RB2, WR2, and TE1 thresholds.
  • Clutch Games (CG) – weekly per-game award for a player who hits the CF factor. The more of these, the more consistent the player is.
  • Clutch Rate (CR) – total of CG earned divided by total games; top fantasy players are usually > 70%.
  • Football Consistency Report Tool (Scoring can be edited/Standard listed below)
    • Based on 12-team leagues
    • 4 points per passing touchdown
    • 6 points for all other touchdowns
    • 1 point per reception (PPR)
    • 1 point per 20 passing yards
    • 1 point per 10 rushing yards or 10 receiving yards

WR Romeo Doubs, GB Football Week 5.

The Green Bay Packers have been notorious for not having a WR1; well, from time to time, that guy appears to be Romeo Doubs. Coincidentally, the Packers are currently without Jayden Reed (injured) and Christian Watson (injured), both of whom have profiled as the WR1 in this offense previously.

Doubs had season highs in targets (8), receptions (6), and caught 3 touchdowns in week 4. His 29.8 points for the week were good enough to rank as WR3. If he were in your lineup, congratulations, you probably got a win.

We already mentioned the two WRs who are injured, but there’s also competition for WR1 in the form of the rookie, Matthew Golden. Golden has now had two straight games of double-digit points. Averaging 5 targets per game, he could continue to steal work from Doubs. His 50% CR also reminds us that he’s frustrating to own due to potential outcomes.

This week, due to his high-scoring output in week 4, Doubs is going to be added in bunches. I’ve held off on him due to Watson due back soon and Golden coming into his own, but with bye weeks starting, you may need to take a chance.

QB Matthew Stafford, LAR

There was some fear coming into this season that Matthew Stafford wasn’t going to be healthy (back issues). It appears that those fears were overblown as Stafford continues to put up QB2 numbers. The addition of Davante Adams (replacing Cooper Kupp) has proven to be deadly for defenses this season.

The former Georgia Bulldog hasn’t finished worse than QB20 on the season, and was even QB2 this past week. Known as a “pocket passer”, Stafford has -4 rushing yards for the season. We know running isn’t his forte, but he’s averaging 2 TD passes per game and 279 yards passing.

(2025 Statistics: 50% CR, QB16: 18.5 PPG, 43% Rostered on Yahoo!)

Despite only having a 50% CR, Stafford’s numbers profile as this year’s lite version of Joe Burrow. His current averages equate to 4,734 passing yards with 34 touchdown passes. Burrow had 4,918 yards along with 43 touchdowns last season.

The Rams look lethal through the air this year with Adams and Puka Nacua as their top weapons. Those two provide Stafford with a high floor, and his 43% rostered percentage seems awfully low. He’s a good option for teams with their QB on bye over the next few weeks. Additionally, he’s probably one of the best options to replace an injured signal-caller as well.

WR Wan’Dale Robinson, NYG

The New York Giants underwent a bit of a transformation this week on offense. They began the Jaxon Dart era and also started rookie RB Cam Skattebo. Unfortunately for them, they also lost their WR1 Malik Nabers to injury. Enter Wan’Dale Robinson, the now default WR1.

Robinson had 140 targets and 93 receptions last season, so he’s not a stranger to being peppered with targets. Additionally, Nabers’ injury allows us to expect an uptick in targets for Robinson, from the current 6.75 per game to closer to 9-10.

With that increase in opportunity, we can expect an uptick in production. This season, Robinson is averaging 13.2 yards per reception, a huge step up from his career average of 8.24. The efficiency will likely regress, lowering with the increase in volume, but he’s already a WR3. He can maintain that with the increased usage.

Robinson has a 50% CR on the season, but that’s likely because he was playing second fiddle to Nabers. I’d be extremely comfortable with him as my WR3 moving forward and even WR2 in a pinch during bye weeks. His 49% rostered will rise quite a bit this week.

TE Kyle Pitts Sr., ATL Football Week 5.

Perhaps it’s from the previous seasons where I’ve been burned, or just a lack of faith. But this past week, I ranked Kyle Pitts below 10 other TEs. His TE11 ranking proved foolish as he finished as TE3 for the week with 18 points.

For the season, Pitts is TE11, so perhaps my ranking isn’t quite so bad this past week. He’s averaging 11.6 points per game, putting him ahead of Brock Bowers, Mark Andrews, and Travis Kelce. Pitt’s falling short of expectations hasn’t been due to lack of talent, but rather to his usage since his breakout rookie season (68 receptions and 1,026 receiving yards).

(2025 Statistics: 50% CR, TE11: 11.6 PPG, 66% Rostered on Yahoo!)

In the preseason, we saw Michael Penix Jr. state that he planned to get Pitts more involved. So far, it appears to be true as he’s averaging 6 targets per game. He’s also showing some consistency as he’s caught at least 4 passes in every game so far this year.

Tight End, like Wide Receiver, seems to be more spread out this year. In fact, it’s hard to fade Pitts moving forward as his relationship with Penix, consistency in targets (five or more every game), and receptions have gotten me more bullish on Pitts for the rest of the season.

RB Woody Marks, HOUNFL Fantasy Football Week 5.

Last week, I featured two rookie RBs in my Under the Radar article: Cam Skatteboo and Woody Marks. If you jumped on those guys for this week, then you were probably dancing around, celebrating a week 4 win! Marks finished the week as RB6, scoring 27.9 points, and he’s back for LAST CALL!

Seriously, the takeover happened in week 4. Marks moved to RB1 for the Texans, finally surpassing Nick Chubb this week, and Joe Mixon is still nowhere to be found. There are multiple reasons for the takeover, such as Mixon being injured and Chubb not producing, but none as evident as the Texans’ offense looking putrid (20 or fewer points scored every game before this week).

(2025 Statistics: 25% CR, RB32: 9.7 PPG, 32% Rostered on Yahoo!)

Marks had 69 rushing yards to go along with another 50 receiving this past week as he looked to be the catalyst of the offense. Those numbers, along with the team’s success in scoring 26 points against the Tennessee Titans, should solidify Mark’s spot as RB1.

Personally, Marks would be my number one waiver wire priority, but I already added him in most leagues last week (in most leagues where I didn’t already roster him). Even if you don’t necessarily need the help at RB, I’d add him this week and be generous with the FAAB.
