We go position by position, explain why each play made the cut, and highlight the exact price points and usage we trust for Week 2 DFS. Quarterback
We start Week 2 DFS with Josh Allen at $7,100. We wanted the high floor in cash, and Allen provides that. Even on a bad day, we see 18 to 20 fantasy points. That stability matters when ownership is high and half the field must be beaten.
We love that he just posted 394 passing yards with a handful of scores and at least one rushing touchdown. He gave us 41.8 DraftKings points last week. We also like an over 230.5 passing yards prop for him this week. He is the highest-priced quarterback on the slate, but the rest of our build still works.
We did consider cheaper Week 2 DFS pivots. Joe Flacco at $5,000 against Baltimore does not need much to pay off. Drake Maye at $5,200 brings value, though we worry about weapons. Justin Fields at $5,700 still looks too cheap. Even so, we are all in on Allen for cash.
Running Backs
Derrick Henry at $8,200 is the hammer for Week 2 DFS. The usage is sky high. We do not expect the game script to bury him, and we do not see Cleveland getting ahead of Baltimore. We also note the bulletin board fuel. Grant Delpit said tackling Henry is not hard. Many would strongly disagree, and so do we.
If any back on this slate can post 150 yards and two touchdowns, we pick Henry. DraftKings pricing feels soft, and fitting the highest-priced QB and RB still left us confident in the rest of the lineup. That combination is rare, and we like it this week.
Travis Etienne Jr.
Travis Etienne Jr. sits at $5,700 and rounds out our Week 2 DFS backfield. We like the over on 16 carries. He handled 143 rushing yards last week, caught three passes, and finished with 21.6 DraftKings points. Tank Bigsby is not around to siphon attempts, which boosts comfort in his role.
Cincinnati looked better on defense than expected, but context matters. We saw a lower-end receiving room across the field and a veteran quarterback opponent. We also looked at recent usage against that defense. Dylan Samson and Jerome Ford managed only 37 yards on 18 carries combined, but they caught nine passes. That points to receiving work for Etienne, who is a strong pass catcher.
Wide Receivers
Devonte Smith is locked for Week 2 DFS at $5,600. Dallas Goddard mispracticed this week and was ruled out by the team. In seven games without him last year, Smith averaged nearly 70 yards per game with a 27 percent target share. The price feels borderline criminal.
We expect Kansas City to be a very good run defense again. If the Eagles get there, we expect them to do it through Jalen Hurts’ right arm. That funnels opportunity to A.J. Brown and Smith. We see the case for a pass-leaning game plan, and this tag fits what we want in cash.
Bills Stack Piece
We prefer Khalil Shakir at $5,500 to stack with Allen for Week 2 DFS. Someone has to catch passes when the quarterback throws for 394 yards. Shakir posted six receptions for 64 yards and 12.4 DraftKings points in Week 1. Keon Coleman grabbed the touchdown. Dalton Kincaid was in play, but we view him as touchdown dependent in this range.
Shakir saw nine targets last week and logged 76 catches last season. He is not a lock for 1,000 yards or double-digit touchdowns. He does not have to be at this price. We also note the opponent allowed decent yardage last week, with DK Metcalf leading the way. We like Shakir as our de facto No. 1 in this build.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Jaxon Smith-Njigba costs $6,000 and fits Week 2 DFS perfectly. He produced 23 DraftKings points last week and dominated opportunities. We believe the target share sat at 55.6 percent. That type of volume is our focus, especially if the game script turns pass-heavy again.
We also watched the injury report across the field. Joey Porter Jr. and DeShon Elliott are out. Derrick Harman is out. Alex Highsmith was limited on Friday. If pressure is lighter, Sam Darnold can work from a clean pocket. When that happens, we know how productive he can be. We feel confident JSN has 100-plus yard upside in this spot.
Tight End
Brenton Strange at $3,600 unlocks the Week 2 DFS build. He posted four targets, four receptions, and 59 yards last week. That was 9.9 DraftKings points. The Bengals were the worst team in the league against tight ends last season and opened the new year the same way.
Cleveland tight ends combined for 10 catches and 100 yards in Week 1. We would not be shocked if Strange reaches seven or eight targets and scores. Our cash target is roughly three times salary. For $3,600, that is 10.8 DraftKings points. The role, the price, and the matchup give us a real path to that number.
Flex
Hollywood Brown checks in at $5,200 and headlines our Week 2 DFS flex. He saw 16 targets in Week 1. Xavier Worthy is listed as doubtful. We see doubtful players sit almost every time, and that shapes expectations. We expect Kansas City to be pass-heavy again.
It is rare to see a 16-target wideout priced this low the very next week. We believe the market is a week behind on this one. We also remember how solid Brown has been in fantasy at times. With receivers around him missing games or being inconsistent, we view him as the last man standing. The target share should continue.
Defense and Special Teams
We are rolling with the Los Angeles Rams at $3,100 for Week 2 DFS. They looked good in Week 1 against Houston. The front four generated strong pressure, and the secondary is underrated. We loved the interception on C.J. Stroud’s pass to Jaden Higgins. That was a smart, athletic play.
We also like the opponent’s profile this week. Cam Ward is a rookie and not a mobile quarterback. He will stand and fire downfield. Beyond Calvin Ridley, we do not see many proven options. The group has a couple of decent rookie receivers, but the offense does not scare us. The salary fit is ideal for our build.
Final Lineup and Sign-Off
