10 Things I Think You Should Know Heading Into The 2025 NFL Season

The regular season is finally here! Enjoy this list of ten random thoughts by Ron Rigney as you head into WK1!
The last time Daniel Jones was a full-time starter, he wasn’t half bad.
In 2022, Jones threw for 3205 yards, 15 TD, and 5 INT. He led the league in interception percentage with 1.1%. He added 708 yards on the ground with seven rushing scores. Daniel Jones did this with Saquon Barkley and not much else. His offensive arsenal is quite the upgrade from what he had to work with then. He has a chance to be better than what we think.
Last Chance!
Everyone’s talking about the 2025 NFL rookie running backs, but some rookie wideouts could be league winners.
Travis Hunter is a unicorn. I look for him to play a bit on defense, but Liam Coen will figure out ways to get the ball in his hands. Upside is an understatement.
Tetairoa McMillan will take some time to figure out the NFL, but should separate himself from the rest of the Carolina WR room and be the number one guy sooner rather than later.
Emeka Egbuka has been flashing all throughout camp and is in a prime spot for targets. With Jalen McMillan out and Chris Godwin’s return uncertain, Egbuka is the WR2 in what will be a potent offense.
Tre Harris will be the WR2 for the Chargers by season’s end. He runs great routes and will surpass Mike Williams and Quentin Johnston in an offense that will throw more than you think.
Don’t panic if you waited on a TE.
Guys like Evan Engram, Cade Otton, Tyler Warren, and David Njoku will ease your pain a bit. Each one is in line for targets in their respective offenses.
The Chicago Bears have built a Top 5 offensive line.
As much as I don’t want to like Caleb Williams, Da Bears have set him up for success. Not to mention if you drafted D’Andre Swift, the Bears didn’t add much in the backfield. This could be the most improved offense in the league.
Miles Sanders is the Cowboys RB to own.
This may not age well. They have a bunch of first-round picks coming up, so they could deal for someone, which seems like a very Jerrah Jones move. Until then, something tells me Sanders is the guy you want.

Zach Charbonnet is more than just a backup.
He’s taken over most of the passing game RB snaps and works behind an RB1 that gets dinged up quite a bit. The Champagne of running backs is a perfect FLEX option.
The Giants have the toughest schedule for the 2025 season.
The San Francisco 49ers have the easiest.
Alvin Kamara IS the Saints offense.
If he can stay healthy, there isn’t much around him. He’s seen at least 77 targets in every season but one. Three of those seasons, he was targeted 100 times or more. 100 targets should be a thing in 2025 as well with the QB room in Nawlins.
Najee Harris has been cleared for contact.
Don’t leave him for dead just yet. There’s some gas in the tank, and Jim Harbaugh wants to run.
Don’t be afraid to FLEX tight ends.
Just a reminder that when you’re looking at those waiver wires, or later rounds of the draft, flexing tight ends does work. Instead of picking that marginal third-down RB that may get five touches, grab a TE off waivers who could get you three catches for 30 yards and a TD.
