Amplify your potential by embracing the high-upside stacking strategy for the ultimate Win-Win!
It’s great to have consistent players on your team. If consistency is good to have in one player, why not multiply the effect at the same time? The “stacking” strategy is used in Best Ball formats because it can be an all-or-nothing result if the QB in your stack goes down or goes off, taking two or three teammates to big days too.
That’s how I like to play my season-long leagues also. Shoot for the moon. I want to win it all. If I don’t win, at least I went down swinging rather than settling for third place and a $25 prize. Here are five doable team stacks for your drafts this season. Each name is followed by the player’s Consistency rank.
1. Bengals Stacks
This one has been talked about on the radio ad nauseam lately. It’s probably the most expensive stack based on draft picks or cash in the auction. It only works if you have the No. 1 pick, and usually, if you start your draft with Chase (2), then Joe Burrow (2), someone will snipe Tee Higgins (15). That’s when you pivot to Chase Brown. (or vice versa)

2. Eagles Stacks
You’d go with Saquon (10) first, AJ Brown (4) second, if he makes it to you. If not, then go Jalen Hurts (6), followed by Skinny Batman Devonta Smith (10).
3. Commanders’ Stacks
Here’s where it gets fun. With this stack, you don’t have to burn a first or second-round pick. You can get two legit studs and then start your stack in the 3rd round with Jayden Daniels (4), followed in the next round with Terry McLaurin (13). Then you can get creative for a few rounds before you add Austin Ekeler (32). After Austin Ekeler, round 10 or later, I’d grab Zach Ertz (11), who last year had more fantasy points than Evan Engram and was only one point behind Sam Laporta.
After you grab Ertz, just before you add your kicker and defense, add Ben Sinnott because we all know that Ertz will miss games sooner rather than later. Sinnott will be a revelation this season when he gets on the field. The 2024 draftee ran a 4.68 40-yard dash, which is very good for a tight end, and he had a 40-inch vertical leap, which is incredible for any human.
4. Niners Stacks fantasy football
This is a sneaky good stack because all of their players are going at a discount. Christian McCaffrey (30) is a late first-round pick. If you miss him, you can still do an effective stack with the 49ers. That stack would start with George Kittle (3) in the 3rd round. Yes, third is a little early for a one-position player, but if you don’t, someone will get him before your 4th round pick unless you’re first in the 4th.
If you played your cards right, after the fourth round, you’ll have McCaffrey and Kittle. Then you can wait to build your stack, using the next three rounds to add running back and WR depth. Then, in round 9, grab Brock Purdy (8). If you’re feeling confident in the Niners, you can add Jauan Jennings (8) in the next round. With four Niners, you’ll have what I have, two names for.
If that four-player stack works, and it should, because the Niners have one of the easiest schedules in the league this season, that would be a Super Stack. If it doesn’t work because of injuries, it very quickly becomes a Suicide Stack. Remember those names because I just coined them, and I want credit when they go mainstream.
5. Da Bears Stacks
Get two stud RBs in rounds 1&2. Then in round 3, get Dj Moore (19), followed by Rome Odunze (79) in round 4. In round 8, get QB Caleb Williams (12). In round 9, get rookie tight end Colston Loveland (11). Remember what rookie Sam LaPorta did in his rookie season in Ben Johnson’s system. I have a ton of confidence in D’Andre Swift, but I’m not sure how Ben Johnson feels about him.
Mark my words, in one of my leagues I’m going for the Bears Suicide Stack, and it will be glorious, probably.
