With OC Zac Robinson working with Kyle Pitts for a second season, Pitts has fully learned the scheme. Zac Robinson has publicly stated he’s expecting Pitts to “take a big jump” in 2025 and mentioned Pitts’ improvements in fundamentals, route-running, consistency, and processing at the line, which should unlock Pitts’ athletic explosiveness.
Keep in mind that Pitts has consistently been elite among tight ends at yards per catch. He’s been over 12 yards per catch every season of his four-year career. TE coach Kevin Koger is also placing extra attention to Pitts’ technical refinement, reinforcing structural soundness and precision on every snap.
Contract Motivation
Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Pitts wants to prove himself—not just to the Falcons but to the broader NFL. Contract-year players usually have a little more motivation and see a bump in their stats. You can bet Pitts is looking for that second contract payoff. Don’t underestimate that motivation. With trade speculation quieting and the Falcons expressing public faith in him, Pitts should stay focused.

Quarterback Upgrade?
The arrival of young QB Michael Penix Jr. last year, combined with his full offseason and preseason with the offense, is a significant upgrade over past quarterbacks who limited Pitts’ ceiling. In college, Penix was known for anticipation, arm strength, pocket presence, and downfield accuracy. I’m predicting an increase in all aspects of the Falcons’ passing game. A rising tide lifts all boats, and the Falcons also have one of the easiest schedules in the league this season.
Statistical Upside & Efficiency
Through his first two seasons, Pitts averaged 6.2 targets per game; post-injury, that dipped to 4.8. A full offseason should help him reclaim prior volume. He’s proven vertically elite; even in 2024, Pitts maintained over 12 yards per reception, ranking in the top 20–30% of the position.
Just a slight increase in targets could make him a top ten tight end for fantasy. Although Pitts is battling an injury heading into camp, OC Zac Robinson has reiterated his intent to use the scheme for Pitts’ unique talents.
