Happy Thursday everyone! I’m back with the “Under the Radar” series to help you all navigate the treacherous fantasy landscape this week. The schedule looks pretty good this week although we have the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on bye. With those teams out this week and it being week 11 I know some teams have to field a lineup including some “why am I doing this” players. In most leagues, we’re approaching the trade deadline (I try to move this back or remove it in leagues I am commissioner) so it’s a good idea to get offers out there and try to improve your team. QB Geno Smith – SEA vs. @SF (Rostered 57%, Started 14% on Yahoo!)
Geno Smith continues to put up numbers despite having to deal with multiple injuries to the offensive side of the ball in Seattle this year. Combining passing and rushing yards, Geno is one of two quarterbacks averaging 300+ yards this year (305.89 per game). The only other quarterback to do so is Lamar Jackson (320.70) and I don’t have to say why that’s good company to be in. For the year Smith is sporting a 67% CR (Clutch Ratio) and is on track to get his WR1, D.K. Metcalf, back this week. Geno’s current overall quarterback rank has him at QB11 while averaging a robust 20.81 points per game. Despite throwing 342 passes this year Geno only has 11 touchdown passes, however, if you’re paying attention that touchdown regression is starting to look up for him. He threw three touchdown passes in week 9 just before the Seahawk’s bye. In games where D.K. Metcalf is active Geno’s pass attempts go from just over 30 (31.50) to almost 40 (39.80), the volume alone makes him a borderline QB1 each week and if the touchdown regression kicks in then he could find himself in the mid-QB1 conversation.
