We’re officially past the halfway point, the NFL season is flying by! I highlight some “Under the Radar” players you may want to stash or use this week. QB Kirk Cousins – ATL vs. @NO (Rostered 75%, Started 36% on Yahoo!)
The Atlanta Falcons have hit a groove over their last five games where they are averaging 29.20 points per game. During that same stretch, Kirk has a 60% CR (Clutch Ratio) including back-to-back weeks over the last two. Kirk isn’t as flashy as other quarterbacks due to his lack of rushing upside (he’s got -3 yards on the year, yeah, that’s negative 3), but he offers elite passing production in an ascending offense (over the last five games he has 13 passing touchdowns). Over Kirk’s last five games, he’s averaging 24.02 points per game, that mark would have him at QB3 (he’s currently at QB8 overall). Despite those eye-popping numbers Cousins is still available in 25% of leagues and isn’t starting in 64% of leagues, that’s wild to me. Cousins has an away matchup against the New Orleans Saints this week, a team in complete turmoil (they just traded away arguably their best defender in Marshon Lattimore), where I expect an easy 20+ points. In leagues where I am looking to compete and have either lost a starting quarterback or maybe even have one underachieving, I am reaching out to the Cousins’ manager to see if I can get him (he should be picked up 100% if he’s available). At this point, there’s only a handful of quarterbacks who you should confidently be starting over him (Jackson, Mayfield, Burrow, Hurts, and Allen).
