It’s week 7 of the NFL season, I can’t believe it. It seems like it was just yesterday I was drafting my teams (way too many to be honest) and envisioning my many fantasy championships. This week we get fortunate and only have two teams on bye, the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. Both teams highlight a good amount of fantasy points in the fantasy landscape. Keep reading to see who’s in this week’s “Under the Radar” article and we’ll get through this week together by identifying the players consistently scoring points. QB Geno Smith – SEA vs. @ATL (Rostered 61%, Started 25% on Yahoo!)
Geno Smith continues to be a forgotten quarterback in fantasy. This year he’s got a 67% CR (Clutch Ratio) and is averaging 21.25 points per game. Overall Geno is ranked as QB6 and he keeps producing because the Seattle Seahawks have one of the best-receiving groups in the entire NFL headed up by D.K. Metcalf. The Seahawks also have Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Noah Fant, but it’s not those guys alone who have helped Geno take off. This year we’ve witnessed the running backs in Seattle utilized in the passing game. That change has allowed Geno to flourish. Kenneth Walker III has had 15 receptions over the last two weeks, to put that into perspective he only had 27 and 29 total for his first and second years in the league. At his current pace, he’ll set a new target career high as early as this week (most likely next week). With those high percentage passes a fixture in the offense Smith is hovering right around 69% for his completion percentage on the year, that’s almost four and a half points more than last year. Geno is averaging a robust 23.85 points per game in away matchups this year so fire him up this week against a very average Falcons’ defense in Atlanta as another 20+ point game seems destined.
