We are through two weeks of the NFL season, and I don’t think it’s just me when I say it’s the best time of the year! Leaves falling, pumpkin spice everything, and fantasy stars underachieving across the league. That’s why I bring you the “Under the Radar” article to help you identify who’s going to consistently produce for your team yet are still flying undetected in most leagues. Week 2 brought a lot of the same that we saw from week 1 with highly drafted tight ends underproducing and an alarming rate of low-end passing with 193.6 passing yards per game, the lowest it’s been since 1992. QB Baker Mayfield – @TB vs. DEN (Rostered 75%, Started 34% on Yahoo!)
Baker is back!!! This marks two weeks in a row for Mayfield who was a roller coaster ride to begin his career. First overall draft pick, good to great rookie season, and then the wheels fell off for a bit. Fast forward, Tampa Bay believed him, and they have been rewarded for doing so as he snuck into the top 10 last season amongst fantasy quarterbacks and this year, he’s sitting at QB2 after two weeks. Needless to say, he’s sporting a CR(Clutch Ratio) of 100% so far this year and is scoring 27.10 points per game. Dating back to the end of last season Baker has had a clutch game in 6 out of his last 7. It’s great to see his rostered percentage going up but it’s still not high enough! This week the Denver Broncos come to town and even though their defense hasn’t been a problem I don’t think they have enough to stop all of the Buccaneers’ receiving options (Evans, Godwin, McMillan, White, etc.). If he’s available on your waiver wire or sitting on your bench, then you should probably go ahead and plug him in unless you’re already starting a verified stud (maybe even then too).
